Damn the woman. She is scary good. Thanks to her, OSU just managed to beat our Cal Bears yesterday, 77-75. (But she did foul out, to everyone's relief.)
on July 27, 2008 samantha prahalis gave me his shoes to change my shirt. in the match against Argentina in the FIBA Americas tournament held at the CENARD, Argentina.
She is Ohio State's 2012 season star, she got showed up by Jantel Lavender this year but since she got drafted and this will be her senior year she is defiantly Ohio State's star watch player this 2012 season, she is certainly wnba material, an quite possibly a #1 pick if not in the top first 5 picks, you gotta love, her love and passion for the game. My fav Ohio State player, and I love watching O State.
watching her play since a freshy when she go to the wnba she would fit in with the mecury cause she good in the open court she flashy and she care about the game and emotional like taurasi and with penny taylor she will fit in greart there
@bud1606 seriously? "most skilled"? that's bullshit. have you ever seen diana taurasi? sammy prahalis is all flash and no fundamentals. if you rewatch some of the highlights, she oftentimes chooses to do a flashy pass and gives her teammate a much more difficult shot than if she had just passed it normally. she taunts and is ridiculously cocky with nothing to back it up. her spinning passes are so unnecessary and her turnovers far outnumber her assists.
@chamomile1800 She is a very skilled player and she has good fundamentals as well. There's a misconception that if you have flashy passes, you are not fundamentally sound. Flashy is how she plays. She likes to get the crowd into the game. And she doesn't taunt the other team, she get's fired up,but she doesn't go to the other bench and taunt them. Her turnovers do not outnumber her assists. Her 1.75 ratio was 2nd best in the Big Ten. And much better than Taurasi's 1.4 she had in her Junior year.
@chamomile1800 By the way, I'm not putting Taurasi down. She is by far my favorite professional player. She's awesome and is probably the best ever. Just comparing stats. Taurasi does a lot of no looks and behind the back passes too, many of which are unnecessary. But like Prahalis, she likes to have fun with the game. It is supposed to be fun.
Yeah, I agree she needs to work on some stuff. I just love how she plays the game. No look passes, between the legs, over the shoulder passes. Not something you see everyday in the women's game. She may not be the fastest, the most fundamentally sound, or the best shooter, but she's definitely fun to watch. And she is a very good ball handler. I still think she has what it takes to make it to the WNBA as she improves this year and next.
And yeah she might not be the GREATEST point guard...but she's kinda unique and definitely fun to watch!! Yeah she needs to work on some stuff....but don't we ALL!!!!!
@fdrisgreat.....why do you say she's one ****uva good player but some other stuff...then ur like she is a warrior and a total joy to watch play the game....then you slam her and say she's OVERRATED n hating on her n cussing n hating on Lavender....hmmm don't quite match up
Plus she outplayed Danielle Robinson in the game against Oklahoma. She's "supposedly" the top point guard in the country right now. I think not. Sammy put her in her place.
Admittedly, she's been a little off this year, but there's still a long way to go. Think about this. Sue Bird's assist to turnover ratio was worse in her Junior year than Prahalis's Sophomore year. And Lindsay Whalen's A/TO ratio was worse her Senior year than Sammy's is right now. Last I checked, these are WNBA all stars.
Overrated. She's an okay player, but she is more flash than fundamentals. Some of her highlights are very impressive but she's extremely cocky and really can't back it up. For every flashy assist in this video, she has at least three stupid turnovers. She won't make it to the WNBA unless she gets her fundamentals solidified.
I defended Sammy in the past but she is so OVERRATED as a player. UConn had her number and so has everyone else this season. Need to focus on playing the game like shooting the three and learning to pass the ball without a fucking turnover. Too much Evan not enough team basketball and tell your buddy Jantel to quit worrying about her fucking weave and play the game of basketball.
better wnba she has player of the year to dish to she will when she can be more about her game she is like short female pistol pete she is a rock star
@w69f69 Gotcha. I agree. There's no one comparable to her in the WNBA right now. Unique set of skills to the women's game, just like Pistol in his day. Good comparison.
Samantha Prahalis is one helluva of great player but she needs to control her emotions in game. I love her grit, determination and passion for the game. She is a warrior and a total joy to watch play the game. If she can control her emotions in the game and not let them deter her play she will be unstoppable. Point guard means leader and calm and collected means victories. Prahalis is going to be better next year and a great WNBA player. Turner and Prahalis offspring will be incredible.
oh womens basketball is pathetic.
