  • Child of the azure

  • Noel looks pretty fun and Im liking her range options but im not really that good into making the demanded moster combos. Im still in street fighter mode with the well placed kick and punches and specials along with the basic blocking.

  • Neol looks kinda hot lol

  • Hakumen seems like he'd be really annoying and tiring to play as. All that effort into putting someone in a half-swing combo.

  • @donalddawkinsthekind Baloney. I hold drive and it looks nothing like that. The first round distortion finish was downright stylish. Noel is messing about.

  • epic turtle match

  • Noel's theme is soooo good !

  • indeed.

  • i accidently did a 43 hit combo on my brother with noel. I will try to learn how to play noel cuz noel looks fun to play ^o^

  • 2:36

Holy shit! I thought the guy who plays Hakumen won!

  • I rather dislike Noel, she seems a little too easy to use. Jin too, but oh well.

I think her damage output is a bit too high. Also, come on, she has better defense than RAGNA, the main character.

  • well, ragna can steal health from his foes with his drive, less health is the way to balance that

  • True, but the amount of health taken isn't enough to balance out the fact that Jin can freeze rape half of it in one decent combo. And that one infinite from Carl means doom while he turtles behind Ada. Blood Kain was meant to up the Leech effect, but it also steals your health. All people have to do is turtle while you're glowing and then poke you FTW.

  • well, this is more a problem of how is aplicated imo, a good ragna wouldnt land the bk outside a combo or an opening, besides, with Continuum Shift around the corner, there will be changes,so we need to wait and see on november 20

  • what this game came out already???

  • lol, in 2009 june for ps3 and 360, also on ovember 20 came out the revision BB Continuum Shift

  • well im not surprised at that i just found out this game exsisted yesterday -.-

  • Then don't use Blood Kain ASAP.

    Karnegy Sizzah is useful too.

  • @codytravers89 actually no...jin cant freeze rape you if you block and his moves are rather flashy and have a long start up animation, carl's infinite is retardedly hard to do and alot of things have to happen for it to work and even high level players consistently fuck it up, and if your worried about him turtling behind ada your just bad >.> there is alot of mechanics built in to prevent any such thing from working well so might wanna look those up.

  • @codytravers89 also soul eater takes 25% health from dmging hits and 10% from blocked hits which isnt substancial and his drive attacks have a long start up animation making it easy to stop/block them. blood kain increases his health gain but only if in the allotted time you can gain more than 3000 health from damaging attacks or else it ends up as a net loss of hp. if you turtle with ragna your kinda retarded anyway. do some research before you say stuff from your comment you seem just bad

  • @shizo66

You know, if a comment is more than a year old, just let it go. Also, what in lord's name are you talking about? I wasn't talking about turtling with Ragna during Blood Kain, I was talking about people turtling AGAINST Blood Kain.

And yes, Jin can easily wipe half of most people's health. While his moves have start up time, they also have a decent amount of invul frames. His mixup is very good and hard to predict. His throw freezes you and throws don't damage scale in combos.

  • @shizo66

Also, don't call me bad. I'm no slouch at this game, and you have no measure of how good I am without fighting me. And News Flash: EVERYONE has to worry about Carl taking cover behind Ada.

  • @codytravers89 actually no everyone doesnt have to worry about that

  • @codytravers89 her damage from her drive is high to balance out the damage she takes from others. its a good match but bad she had to fight Hakuman. If it was Tager for instance even worse do to the fact he has 1600 health in the game plus high damage attack

  • Haku-men's Drives have 1 startup frame (except for 5D), right? Then it's almost like Accent Core's Slashback, except for the throw.

  • After a j.2C I can't seem to air dash soon enough after that to continue his combo.

    Any advice peoples?

  • You can't air dash cancel the j.2C. You gotta wait until Hakumen's done his animation before you do the airdash.

  • Yeah, but usually that means for me, that the person can tech out before I can get the second hit in! :(

  • no thats to late

  • dash when the sword is halve way back from hit your opponent.

  • It just seems that playing as Hakumen, takes mad reflexes. In order to do his combos you need to be FAST.

  • Hakumen, you have a counter for a reason.

    USE IT!

  • Counter really isn't as useful as some make it out to be. Professional Hakumen players rarely use it because it requires such strict timing.

  • yeah....

    no really

  • Id say let noobs, be noobs. thats the only way to learn, this person with noel seems very well polished with that air combo.

  • aye hakumen is not exactly a compliated character, but its not like he dosent need skill, if ppl think that all they've seen are the pplwho only use C with him. U rly gotta now when to use his attacks or u will loose all energy quickly and leave urself wide open. Hakumen does take skill.

on another note, that noel was no R-1 but he/she has some good skills, he wasted some good rapid cancels, but did rly good besides that.

  • By the way guys Hakumen only has 16% more health than the second lowest, which is Nu.

  • hakumen isn't cheap. he' one of those characters you have to be careful fighting, especially tager as well. i'm still practicing hard to get better with my main characters (bang, noel, jin, ragna).

i actually want to learn hakumen anyway.

    great match.

  • Agreed. Hakumen is pretty much the most balanced character in the game. He has a 5-5 matchup with nearly every character except the 3 god tiers whom all (but rachel with 4-6) dominate him.

  • actually Tager rapes Hakumen, its the only match were Tager is on advantage btw i think is 7:3 in tagers favor

  • Most players think hakumen is a one move char..

well he is... unlike most chars..

A+B attacks have no real range.. most people use them to start up combos..

while C is the only real button hakumen users have..

D is.... well.. a magic rune in the air that stops incoming damage and turns it into a knockback/throw :P or a badass sword cut!

and many people argue about the infinity bar.. man.. do they even know how it's used?

  • Hakumen fits the archetype of the samurai concept; slow to act, but when he does, he deals lots of damage. A good Hakumen player (I am trying not to sound arrogant, really!) knows how to blend A, B, and C attacks. C serves to attack when there are openings. It is dangerous to use it all the time since it leaves you WIDE open if you land or are near an opponent.

B is the best choice when dashing to start a combo to expose them for a brief time, and 4C is a fantastic stun.

  • There is a thing as good sportsmanship. Whether loops, spamming infinites, etc are considered "abuse" or not depends on the game or if some rules were agreed to before. For the most part good sportsmanship is just about not going personal when you lose, not pausing/unpausing the game on purpose just to annoy the other player in competitive play... those things. These are heavily enforced especially in official tournaments and you could get kicked off for breaking them.

  • lol, you are ignoring the fact that they lack of mobility, mixup options, and his normals have low range or are pretty damn unsafe, also they are the 2 worst chars on the game

  • I don't see how people can overlook these facts. He's powerful, and has a bit more health, but every attack leaves an open spot, every move uses his bar unless it's simply 4A or another variant, and to top it off, his drive is rarely used. If I end up hitting D with the intent to reverse a direct attack, it works once. Maybe twice. That should be all you need, I know, but I'm learning =]

I just love how he uses his defense to attack and his attacks to defend (projectiles, even DD!)

  • ya, I main Hakumen, he is not as amazing as you would think he is, there are so many times I pray to GOD that he has a running animation instead of a half-assed hop across the screen.

also, his normal moves uses his Heat Bar, thats why he seems strong. But also take into consideration that his supers also aren't the best in the world.

  • He is strong, yes, but is highly immobile. He relies on the opponent approaching him, and sometimes, the otherway around. His Drive isn't used much - for me, a good match will see it used 5 times with maybe one or two connects.

He turns defense into offense, and offense into defense (his swords can stop projectiles, even DD!) but he has to be used carefully. He's all about timing, and that can be very difficult.

I am proud to main Hakumen.

  • Im a fellow hakumen user and i always get hatemail with people saying "Theres no skill using Hakumen" again that is the cry of the weak. while it may be true for some players(good hakumen players dont spam C) Hakumen is easliy one of the harder characters to master. Like you said, his combos have strict timing and the only way to master his drive is to master every single character. While it may get fusterating at times, its always satisfying winning matches with haku.

  • Most of your comment is true but part of it seems rather misleading. Hakumen isn't hard to master. It's hard to master playing against others using Hakumen. That is to say, his move list is rather simple and while chaining stuff is hard for new ppl, it's easy if you've played SF game or Slayer from GGXXAC. And no, you don't have to master every single character to master his drive as 6D starts on frame 1 and simply IBing into it can be done in mid of most gatlings. Just know basic strings.

  • Zero really needs to stick to his own games.

  • Fuck, I hate a Noel player that just uses Optic Barrel constantly.

  • Why? It's one of the easiest things in the game to dodge.

  • It's not that it's not easy to dodge, it's just horribly annoying having to do so.

Not to mention: "Optic Barrel! Opti- Optic Barrel!"

  • Hahaha, I understand that.

It's better than hearing "MUSOU~" over and over again from Jin during ICECAR spam, though.

  • lol Yeah, but at least you can stop an ice car by blocking then punishing them. You have no choice but to Noel scream out her attack every single time until you reach her.

  • So do I. I hate Noel in general. She's a cheap ass newb character.

  • Correction. Your a lame ass newb. "cheap" is the cry of the weak.

  • word bro

  • Sorry, I like to have fun and play SKILLED players. Not little faggots that do the same moves over and over again. I adhere to a little thing called SPORTSMANSHIP; something that is a lost art these days.

    Go fuck yourself you jackass.

  • Well if you cant counter can see a pattern in someones attack then maybe you arent as skilled as you thought you were.

  • sigh, you sound like the people who thinks that throwing is cheap, or "spamming" is cheap, let me tell you something, the sportmanship in fighting games is the way of the loser, man up your fucking game, if you lose to some one who only throws ice cars with jin for example, do you really belive that you would have a chance against a good player, lol, as i said before the sportmanship and the gentlemen rules are stupid shit that the scrubs use as excuses for their loses

  • While this is true, I can't help but make an acception with BlazBlue right now. Like a new car, this is the first model out, and there are kinks.

Noel can chain massive combos, as can Nu, but Noel deals more damage. Jin can freeze, and that's fine, but his freezes last much too long.

I wouldn't say the players are cheap, but rather, the tactics available certainly present the opportunity to be used in such a manner.

  • there is nothing cheap on the tactics, if you believe that they are cheap, you sir fail hard, what you have is low matchup experience, and lack of experience agaisnt these tactics in general, manup your game

  • oh good lord

  • hmm i think jins freeze is just fine but then again ima jin user lol nu ill admit is hard to get around but she has her disadvantages and noels combos r fine if havin a hard time theres a lil thing called guard burst :D

  • @xboy2655

Jin's Ice Is to fast.. I used Jin and i literatlly kept everyone away from me with his Normal ice. If they jumped they got hit, if they moved forward the got hit by one ice. How is that even fair? I enjoy that it has a little more start up buttt everything esle with Jin is fine. V-13's Dash annoyed me, everything else i didn't mind. Also Noel had TOO MANY Invincibility (sp?) frames on her Drives... people would just spam them to win

  • well im not a game nerd so i dono anything about invincebility frames or anything like that lol just stop whinin and play the game or find some other game if ur gonna bitch and moan about it

  • @xboy2655

I Wasn't bitching or moaning. I was just simply stating WHY others bitch and moan. Its kinda like getting cheated out of a win.. is that fun at all? No, But theres no reason to since they fixed MOST of the things in the second game. So that is why im learning Hakumen and all.

  • @godamfatman roflol

  • This match was beautiful. I'm a Haku-men player and for sure both of these players were good. One thing that surprised me a bit though is the lack of counters from the Haku. It could have meant the difference for him. I did however love the counter special on the nuke at 4:28. (amazing timing) Great match!

  • I would love to play Noel like this someday. These are the sort of people I look up to in this game.

  • Noel FTW!

  • great match to watch had alot of fun watching it go back and forth. I was rooting for the Hakumen, but the Noel was a great player. nothing like the drive spammers.

  • Drive spammers, someone who use the drive without knowing what are they doing, hoping for the best.

A good player doesnt spam the drives, since all of them are unsafe on block, a good player use them wisely, like this noel

  • Agreed. Most Noel players spam specials like crazy.

  • and eat the 360's of Tager for that :)

  • iderno about that, he dropped some guaranteed combos. Hitting a 2D on a crouching opponent is a free 6B, 5A,6A,5A 236D.

  • 4:35-4:30

I cannot grab-miss combo with Noel for my life. Aweomse match.

  • how did the haku player do that 11 hit at the 3rd match? i don't know how someone stays in the air that long...

  • This match was a blast to watch even though some people say the players weren't good, a close match is always enjoyable.

  • a world apart from xbox live games,

all I do with hakumen is basic 2 in 1 combos, had no idea he could do shit like that

  • IMO, Hakumen is an advanced character. Since he can't do your basic weak->middle->strong combo, you have to do a little practice and find hits that work well together. Also, I find he's one of the more aerial dash dependent characters.

  • just saying as a Haku-men player he was not that

good at all, but the Neol was good. Haku-men can do easy 4 hit's that do that much damage why practice wall combos that work half the time

when you don't have combos down that work all the time.

  • Well same thing goes for Noel, as good as it may look, there were alot of things she could have added to her combos same with Hakumen. If I use Hakumen I own people with him because his just so god dam strong. But Noel is more fun because she has more combos to do.

  • Man that was one crazy Noel and Hakumen

  • WHAT! who do you play with?

  • My main is Noel, second main is Hakumen :p

  • My main is Noel and second is Ragna, lol.

  • Haku-men shouldve gone for the Disstortion at the end he couldve won

  • I clicked this video after already watching a bunch of rather fun BB vids but I must say this one takes the cake. Great battle. I'm always having trouble against Haku-Men and the skill of Noel (Noel mainer myself) inspires me to try out those air combo's I see here.

    5'd and favourited.

  • Good fight, fun to watch. Hakumen is unstoppable if used correctly. You have to dash aggressively, but then counter when the other player gets paranoid and attacks. Also have to remember that his forward kick is practically a special move since it knocks down. Also make use of the kneeling jab and forward hard slash. Also, there's nothing pro about the throwing projectiles over and over again when the other player is almost dead, that's called CHEESE. :)

  • Got This Game.. Fkn Sweet..

Hate The Fact That Ppl Who Have Played GG Says Its A Rip Off Game Of It.. LOL Same Creator.. So I Cant Be A RipOff Kiddos.. haha

PSN Daviii_12 if any want to battle. .

  • HOLY SHIT. Hakumen FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, these guys are so pro. I could never compare to them!

  • don't give up there only average as competitive players so there just below semi-pro.

  • yeah good hakumen, the problem is saw is that he never used his counter efficiently, or at all lol. Haku and Ragna are my main! whoo

  • Hakumen's counters are hard to hit in my opinion =/ but i agree Haukemen is a total beast

  • I agree Hakumens counters have to be spot on if you dont do that you will eat it every time, but if you can do this a whole other part of his game opens up

  • Also with barely any large movements he has the dash which doesnt relle go far, which makes it difficult sometimes to fight a good Nu or Jin =/ but still he is powerful nontheless ARC shouldve gave him more movement though =/

  • dude plays a nice Haku-men, better then me atleast .... i can never get the air dash to work to finish off my combos

  • honostly playing noel is pretty easy id say the guy playing Haku-men had more skill

  • she maybe seem easy to play, but play with her in an efficient way, thats another story

  • I agree, but he missed so many good openings in the first two matches and al though I understand the range constraint vs. Noel he could have pulled off some nice counters to fuck her up.

  • Yeah except when you play Haku-men, each of his moves take down hella HP. Noel was throwin down some nice combos.

  • Nice work Haku lol just get ur counter down and maybe work on your def skill then the rest is history.......=)

  • That was an insane match. I wish I had those Hakumen skills.

  • but hakumen was getting his ass hammered over and over by that little girl?

  • Never underestimate little girls in fighting games.

  • noel was beast

  • That Hakuman player was pretty damn good.

  • it's Buppa.

  • Yea, Hakumen is the slowest character in the whole game and this person did some crazy combos. Though he is the strongest.

  • Tager and Bang are arguably slower.

  • Tager has moves where people can't escape and can grab really fast.

    Bang I don't know I hate using him so I wouldn't know.

  • fun match to watch. second round is a nail biter :P

  • this game looks Fricking Win. NEED GET NOW!

  • Are you? You're the type of person that, can't put up a compelling and structured argument....

  • You're the type of person that can't put up a structured sentence. (much less compelling)

  • its made by the same people as guilty gear

  • this games shares some mechanics of gg (made by asw so no surprise), but it plays very different

  • same creators

  • you dumb

  • This is made by the same people who made guilty gears.

  • i fucking love hakumen, that big ass sword, he looks like a robot ninja, the heavy damage.

  • Grammaton Cleric Noel can really kick some butt.

  • trust me, rachel is S tier, in fact, she has more favorable matches than arakune in the new tier list, she is pretty strong with all her zoning/rushdown capabilities

  • dude how you kill this douche bag? i can fucking kill hakuman.. hella cheap, 1st this gauge is diffrent, 2nd it attack are very fucking heavy, and 3rd he use this cheap combo to throw you vureable and he use his specials!!! fuck i need help..

  • TIERS ARE FOR QUEERS!

  • Hakumen got destroyed in that last round. Noel is a beast, man. xD

  • Fuck you. Way to ruin the video.

  • Uh... Way to flip out over an opinion, mate. If anything ruined this video, it was the spaz-matic comment of yours.

  • From what I've heard, BlazBlue is so balanced that characters from any tier can be used competitively. Except Carl.

  • I heard and don't quote me but Hakumen is supposed to be low tier.

  • actually carl is "A tier" in the newest tier list

  • Can you link or tell me the tier list? Thanks.

  • this game came out 3 days ago in america, i doubt the tier list is going to be out for a while

  • the game is out in the japanese arcades (and some in the usa and eu) since nov of 2008, there is a tierlist

    S V-13, Rachel, Arakune

    A Jin , Carl

    B Ragna, Noel, Litchi, Taokaka

    C Haku-men, Bang

    D Tager

note that this tier list was made based on the opinion of som interviewed top players, so not many people agree with it, since tao seems more than B, and Tager is low but not that low according to some players

  • Can you select any stage you want? I like Noel's and Jin's song and I want to be able to fight while listening to their music.

  • even beter, like gg, you can select the stage that you want and then select the music that you want, so yo can play for example in the stage of jin and choose the bgm of jin vs ragna

  • 5:18 was pretty badass!

  • I got a bit sad from watching this video.

Maybe it's just because I haven't played Guilty Gear for a few months but I couldn't remember any Guilty Gear characters screaming the exact same way during every single hit of their combo...

Hakumen goes all *GRAAAH GRAAAH GRAAAH GRAAAHHWAAAAH* here.

  • the graphics are bueatiful in this game, i might buy it though kof xii and m vs c come out right at the same time. not to mention the difficulty reminds me of guilty gear and though i have the psp version, i am worried that i will not be able to master the deph that is needed in order to fullfil the entire enjoyment of the game.

  • wow. that 27 hit that noel did in the last round.. was amazing.

  • yeah it was pretty beast. i want to main her i jope i get get that advanced =))

  • sweet 20+ hit combo!

can't wait for this game it just looks so clean

  • This Reminds Me Of Guilty Gear :3

  • thats the point because this game is like a sequel to the GG series

  • More like a successor. GG is over with right? Or are they making another GG with Graphics such as blazblue and continuing both franchises?

  • ishiwatari already said, that they are planning to continue gg, the 3d saga, and the 2d fighter, so gg is not dead, yet im sure that we wouldnt see a new gg for like 4 years

  • Lol, every video I watch of this game the big guys are always getting their asses kicked by the girls in the dresses. This game looks interesting, but I'm wondering if it'll be an easy transition from playing SF/KOF for so long, what do you guys think?

  • Not really. The game is much faster paced and not so much button mashing like SF. It really punishes bad judgment and timing and rewards those who are heavy on the offensive. It's probably a more clean fighitng game than SF4 so I would def. say give it a try, you won't be disappointed by some of the good players out there. The learning curve is intimidating at first but you'll get it. also, KOF is probably alot more like it than SF. Cheers

  • BB does feel faster because of the dash and super jump, all the move and attack come out at the same speed as SF. One difference between SF and BB I would say. In SF you spend more time training strict combo and chain, footing and breaking defense. In BB its less focus on footing because of the fast movement, and breaking turtle is less important since the system punish defensive play. BB combos are easier, but longer, and require judgment since different chain are execute at different angle

  • Since when was SF A button masher?

  • I just hope that BlueBlaz has better character balance than SF4. Then I'll definitely think about trying it. This'll be the first time I'll play a 2D fighting game like this.

  • eh, it'll be better, but it won't be perfect. However, every character us oretty balanced there's just some with a better edge but not an overpowering edge. Take Hakuman for instance, if I rememebr correctly he's probably the hardest character to learn but very high tier

  • Hakumen is low tier :P

  • We're not even sure what the tiers are.

  • Really? No shit? I heard different, thansk for the insight. I know for a fact Rachael is high tear though, but the balancing in the game is pretty damn close as opposed to everything else. So Low and High Tiers are THAT different imo

  • If a super low tier can beat higher tier characters. It should be.

  • I love how people are bitching about the game and peoples play skill when it isn't even out.

  • this game has been out in the arcade for a while, fyi. so it actually makes sense that some people are already familiar with skill levels and such

  • dose anyone know when this is coming out

  • june 30 on usa, june 25 on japan

  • i want to get this game but i want to know if it's well balance, i heard Rachel and Hakumen are broken characters does anyone if that's true

  • Rachel is high tier, but not broken. Hakumen is actually low tier. The game overall is really well balanced.

  • Because you're better, right?

  • haha

  • That haku player wasn't great, but this video does demonstrate how crazy he can be. I'm impressed that he pulled off a win in the 4th round though.

  • Rebel 1? Level 1? Engrish? Cool game. :)

  • Rebel comes from rebellion, from the story background, Ragna is a rebel who fights against the library, the "evil" organization that rules the world of BB

  • I'm 105% sure both of you are right, and that is why Arc System Works is awesome.

  • i see... thanks for the info... :)
