It's upsetting that he spoke so harshly over smear campaigns and commercials like this not so long ago. McCain releases his Paris Hilton commercial and we get a ton of these.
It is politics they say any thing to get elected. Mc Cain or Obama they will kiss your baby promise you the world. Though when it really comes down to it they just want a check mark in the chad.
People don't care what you know , till they know how much you care Barack Obama is a man who cares. Not in my years have i seen a man with such girts. I think he really wants to help the people i think he will make change in the world that we have not seen in history he will go down in history as a great man with a warm hart and leader not for him self but for the people. i am form Ireland and live in Ireland and i can see this i hope ye the American people can see it too...
Both candidates keep going back and forth tit for tat. wah wah wah wah wah! I want to hear about thorough and transparent investigations regarding the current administration on the 9/11 attacks, war crimes, war profiteering, the anthrax B.S., torture crimes, violations of civil rights, corruption, election fraud,
and also putting this great country back on track. Yeah! Why don't the talk about that stuff?
The only problem is Obama is also on the same side--that is with the "bad guys". Just like McCain, Obama voted for FISA, every single solitary "war on terror" funding bill, and is mainly funded by self-appointed elitists. His rhetoric and celebrity-like following may be different from McCain but one look at his voting record proves once and for all that Obama = McCain.
"E-mails and testimony before McCain's panel showed that Reed, who once branded gambling a "cancer" on society, reaped millions of dollars in tribal casino proceeds that Abramoff secretly routed to him through various non-profit front groups. Abramoff, a lobbyist for the tribes, paid Reed to whip up "grassroots" Christian opposition to prevent rival tribes from opening casinos."
There is a HUGE difference between ads that reflect on TRUTH and FACTS (like this one) and ads that attempt to make a MOCKERY of a candidate and their lifestyle (like McCain's ads).
McCain's got more negatives than Bush had in 2000 - ignore them at your peril.
Needs to be an ad highlighting his advisors' ties to the Georgian regime. One pointing out what a nightmare he's been for veterans in the Senate would help too.
Anyone who thinks these things aren't issues needs to give their head a shake; they're direct indicators of what you'll get with McCain in the Oval Office - a 3rd Bush term, with the lid off.
its sad how the presidental campaign ads only focus on making the oponent look bad, rather then making them look good. thats like saying, "my opponent is very very bad. dont vote for him. vote for me because im not bad, even though you dont know what im going to do."
This is good. That's what Obama is doing: positive, issue-focused ads nationally, negative-exposing McCain ads at the local level. Nothing wrong with that. People need to know what John's record is. Obama/Sebelius 2008/2012!
When the CNN Political Ticker covered this ad yesterday, the McSameiacs and PUMA folks were swarming, going nuts in the comments section which means the ad is a good, effective ad. Keep it up!
YES OBAMA... you tried to play nice and stick with the issues, but they are playing dirty. Get on your A game, your confront zone... do the bring 70k people speaks... because he can't follow you there and he is using the media to do those town hall meeting... Remember do you and the people will follow.
you damn young voters in swing states (Ohio Florida Michigan Nevada New Mexico Virginia) better show up at the freakin polls on NOV 4. We need you more that ever.
McCain talks a good game on campaign finance and ethics reform, and while he has done some good on this (I'm an Obama supporter, but want to be fair), he was one of the senators implicated in the Keating Five scandal, and more importantly, he has very close ties to some of the most corrupt lobbyists for a guy who's denounced them so strongly.
Hey Obama, it's about damn time you run these ads exposing McCain. How about next time you don't wait until your poll numbers get so low. Now we have a huge hole to dig out of. You better win, seriously, I can't stand Bush and surely can't stand 4 or 8 more years of this nonsense.
"John McCain: more of the same" has to be the sharpest slogan against McCain i have seen from these ads. It's simple and not too wordy. Keep sharpening them and stick it where it hurts.
Gotta hit harder than that...hardly laid a hand on him..and the Abramoff scandal is over..catch up ...damnit, I am tired of all the pussy footing around.
Now, understand, this ad doesn't mean shit unless it is on the air, at the least, 30x a week. That goes for the other ads attacking McCain.
WE HAVE TO BRAND MCCAIN FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH! If we don't we LOSE the election. John McCain is not relenting nor should we. In order to properly brand, the meme or memes have to be aired over and over and over and over and over until it is effectively implanted in the minds of Americans all over the country.
The Jack Abramov (sp?)scandal rates alongside Watergate and Iran Contra in its level of cynical disregard for morality, ethics and basic decency. But the Republican-controlled congress squelched hearings, investigations, hence publicity.... It really needs to be publicized.
FINALLY! I guess they see how well the negative ads are working for McCain. He's got to be able to hit and hit hard. The legend of McCain as the maverick and reformer needs to be exposed. The media isn't going to do their job so he's got to get out there and do it.
Keep hitting him hard, Obama campaign. It's about time the country started to hear all about John McCain's dirty dealings with lobbyists. He really has been playing this Washington game of Quid Pro Quo for decades. The Keating Five scandal happened during the 80s, and he's obviously still working the same play today.
...I really wish we could stay away from these kinds of videos. Political campaign should be about the issues. This stuff is important to know too but... I suppose I hoped for more from Obama.
Obama's been mr nice guy all summer, while McCain has been launching baseless attacks on him, and what has Obama gotten for trying to run a better campaign, his poll numbers have fallen.
As much as people claim they want a better campaign, if Obama doesn't go on the attack, and even harder then this, he's going to lose.
I feel you, but it's the same way Kerry lost in 04 because he didn't hit back. It is sad that it all comes down to this, but I suppose it's necessary...
Both agreed to run a fair campaign. McCain proved that he is a liar, and has been running baseless attack ads (that are proven to contain lies) for weeks. It's about time that Obama starts to hit back. Instead of making stuff up however, he stays on the issues. It's always more fun to hang someone with their own words.
I agree, except that Obama has all the issues cornered (except the Religious Right wedge issues), and McCain has nothing but a lifetime of dirty laundry that people are either ignoring or ignorant of. We should display Obama's great proposed solutions at the same time as we expose McCain as more corrupt Washington dealings that Americans can't afford.
Pull, kaboom! And this after a day of handwringing in the blogosphere about Obama being too soft. And apparently this is airing only in Atlanta--a big, big market where McCain has little ground game.
Keep it up, Barack ... now the warchest is being put to use.
i wish obama wouldnt do the republican thing of making a bunch of attack ads
he should make more showing the things he can do while mccain looks like a jackass telling people that obamas not ready to lead while not saying anything good about himself
