Other than that I havnet seen or heard of any other jams with the AK's. Was amazing during that bank robbery though two guys with AKs armor piercing rounds fired 100s of rounds and didnt kill anyone only wounded them. Also you would have to replace the squad automatics weapons and billions of dollars in stock piled ammunition, arms, and supplies. After all, your shot grouping isn't as good when there are bullets coming your way. M16 is a piece of shit and I hated it. However, I'd hate to carry the ammo as the weight matters after a while.

The odds of survival in conflict are pretty slim and the AK does its job.

The m16 is over complicated, jams, is "pretty". It's out of place on a battlefield. It's something that only belongs at a shooting rance or in the back of a police cruiser. It's not a warriors weapon. It's a law enforecement weapon.

Yep, no coincidence the AK-47 was designed by a soldier from the front lines, while the M-16 was designed by some REMFs that thought from a purely target shooter's standpoint. While the AK is far less accurate than the M16, that doesn't make a difference when in a firefight.

@wingsuitfreak AK's plenty accurate. 3 football feilds away and people still seem to think it's inaccurate becuase of that discovery channel show (which is a proven biased fraud). All rifle barrels flex, but that's after the round leaves the barrel. The guy was yanking on the trigger, and also any gun on full auto will be fairly inaccurate. That show was hogwash snake oil. The guns are plenty accurate.

Especially the AK74, which Eugine Stoner himself admits is a better rifle.

I suppose I made it sound like it wouldn't hit the broadside of a barn at fifty feet, which of course it will. Now, in comparison to the m16 it fails miserably in accuracy. But that is the only area it fails. Can you hit a person at 300 meters? Yes. But that doesn't make it an accurate weapon. Still, it is far superior for combat. Even if you couldn't hit a man at 300 meters it would be superior. Because it would at least fire if it was covered in mud.

BUT.. In the wet muddy jungles of Vietnam however far superior firepower and reliability Made the A-K the better weapon!

Being able to throw rounds downrange is what counts. Can't do that if your weapon jams. Dump an M-16 in sandstorm and see how well it fires. It won't. Target shooting it's great, as a combat rifle it sucks ass.

I have notice that my accuracy seems to go into decline when I have incoming rounds going in my general direction. I was an extremely good shot, I don't shoot anymore so not now, but spray a mag of 7,62 around me and I couldn't hit the broad side of a T72. That's why I don't care about accuracy in a combat rifle. Steady hold factors don't apply in combat.

Unlike intermediate cartridge assault rifles, FAL is a rifle, inadequate for CQC due to low density fire and hence inadequate for post-WW2 infantry. Therefore it is 40 years retired from all advanced armies, and passed on to 3rd world.

In spite of its inferiority as a squad designated marksman's weapon to purpose-designed sniper rifles, some versions are ok at it.
