I don't know about that...I think the main drummer provides more of a bass sound while Thom's drumming is the higher and more sharp sound that the point of the sound "bangers and mashers" is going for. For the drummer to play both parts at once would be possible, but it probably would be a hell of a lot harder, not to mention not sound the same.

GFM,I agree a Celine Dion performance in any of the songs would be gross.You're right about this song compared to Nude too. Messy vocals are more suited to this song than they would be in Nude which requires more clarity. And they must like it. But these pages are for us to post opinions positive or negative no? 1. The charm of a live performance is that it's unique I agree. However, I was saying that HE would sing better if he wasn't playing the drums. I didn't say i could do any better; i'm not thom yorke. Do you have to be a furniture maker to say that a chair is uncomfortable? You're point here is ridiculous.

2. Doubling parts is a centuries old technique in music, it's frequently effective, it's not effective enough in this case to warrant copromising the main vocal part to this exent.

1. Thom's voice is almost always compromised in any live performace. It's what makes their performance unique, and it's not supposed to be perfect. Appreciate the imperfections for a stellar live performance. He shows passion in his performance.I doubt you could do any better.

2. The "difference" between Phil's set and Thom's set is what was meant. It's dynamic and as for doubling Phil's part listen to Weird Fishes; they're all following eachother.

-Thom's drums are useful, because doing that or not, the result is not the same. And it gives the sound he, they want. They made a concession, because having a nice voice for B&M, what does it mean to you?

-Thom can NOT sing the same way for Nude and B&M. Here, his voice is as messy as the song, it's a package with elements of the same nature. Look, for instance, he has not the same voice in I Might Be wrong and Idioteque. You can't have a Celine-Dion technique on all the songs!
