While the character of Mr. Spock nailed the part I was somewhat disconcerted by the arrogance of James Kirk. Sure he looks and sounds like Kirk but I felt the actor was somewhat forceful in the delivery of his lines. Perhaps when I see the full product tomorrow night (or sat) I will have the opportunity to drink it all in and absorb the essence of what the director was attempting to do in this piece. I will without my judgement until then. Oh yeah, Scotty was dead on.

I'm also not entirely convinced about the acting. The storyline was okay, though the plot twists seemed a bit far-fetched at some points (beaming in at max warp?). Still, the special effects were great and I do think that the writers should've been paid a lot more.

Also, I loved the new outfits. I really loved them, until I de-smudged my monitor and got a clear view.

I'll watch it again tonight when I'm sober. But I bet it'd be great to watch it again without alcohol!
