First line is called shebang line, it's not a perl statement, but a system statement #!. It follows the path to perl interpreter.

we should warn them about the dangers of using PISS (Perl and ISS). Because a computer is not a 14 year old girl at R.Kelly`s house. A web app with PISS on it wont help anything. Apache is the superior server.

Thanks for the tutorials. I've viewed the first 20 and find them easy to understand. Since the target audience appears to be beginners like myself, you might do well to explain early the use and placement of comments for clarifying the intent of one's code.
