One of the best movies ever!!! The atmosphere + the music (Dave Grusin the magnificent;) + the actors...the movie we always get back to!!!! I read somewhere that Jeff said that the sequel of FBB is the thing he would like to do most of all...;)))
Is it just me? Or does Jack seem to be wandering everywhere in Downtown Seattle? From Belltown to Pioneer Square, from Pioneer Square to Belltown, and then from Pike Place Market to the Eliotte Avenue? Which direction is he going? Those who live in Seattle will know what I'm talking about!
Gee, I cannot believe I made my previous comment about this theme exactly a year ago. The time flies in Seattle since the U.S. Economy Melt-down! I wish I have more time for my artistic and musical hobby, but I'm working like dog these days.
what a great musical score, what a great jeff bridges! what a greatstory, even this was a "silent" movie.... so wonderful story, to surch, to find, timeless!!!!!!
Wow, thanks so much! I've always loved, loved this opening sequence. It's one of Grusin's finest. Jeff Bridges was phenomenal in this film. Pfeiffer and Beau were superb as well. But Jeff deserved nominations for this one - such an internal, completely immersed performace. One of the finest ever!
But, anyway, as far as Dave Grusin's original Jack's Theme is concerned, I think the solo piano version is much better. It totally get you in the sweet sadness or loneliness which me and my wife both enjoy. And we're not old! We're still in our twenties!
thanks for putting this up. i love the entire movie and i really adore the intro. Sensuously captures the appeal of urban nightlife so stylistically well and you get an immediate insight into Jack's hip life, light years away from his brother's in the vacuum of the suburbs.

This movie is my favorite movie.
The performance of Bridges brothers and Michelle was splendid. The music was good, too. "Jack's Theme" is in particular favorite music.
Thank you for uploading this music.

Funny thing is I've heard faster saxophone version of Jack's Theme or Jack's Theme imitation in a shampoo commercial a few years ago.

Dave Grusin is the MAN! And I love love this Jack's Theme - both Piano and Saxophone. And I'm straight, not homo! LMAO!

FBB is one of my top ten. Great opening sequence. Missed the part where she says "You got great hands."

This movie is in my Top 10 faves, for sure.
Largely, I think because of the overall mood and the MUSIC!
My gosh - when Ernie Watts comes in on this tune (saxophone) it gives ya chills!
