Okay, this officially competes with Gaius the Sugarglider for cutest sugar glider video I've ever seen... And not only are the suggies adorable, but you picked a good song that (hilariously) goes with the video and is synced up perfectly in several points (boom!). Awesome job! :D
@x0hsweetn0thin they are NOT only called sugar bears by one breeder. have you even tried searching "sugar bears" in google? you get tons of results, and i doubt the one breeder has hundreds of different websites that give information about something they dont want people to know about. also, how does not being able to know what an animal is help the breeder in any way? they are cruel because they want money, and they dont get any more because they rename a species.
Actually, they're only called sugar bears and honey gliders by a mill breeder company that has decided to change the name of the species in order to keep people from researching proper information.
But, what do you expect from a company that routinely sells sick and dying gliders? And tells lies about how to care for them, resulting in thousands (if not millions) of sugar gliders dying too early from improper to care
Yeah true. Ive seen people that were selling gliders that were in horrible condition at a fair once. I felt so bad for them. The company name was Pocket Pets
you dont have to wash them just wipe them off with a baby wipe every few weeks they can cost from two hundred to a thousand and no they are not rodents they are marsupials like kangaroos the females give birth in a pouch.
Actually, you do not even have to wipe them off with a baby wipe every few weeks. Sugar gliders are very clean animals and will groom themselves just fine. The only reason that you will ever have to wipe them off is if they're ill, injured, or if they've gotten into something that they shouldn't have.
Personally, I would go to a private breeder. My two girls were "oops babies' so I knew that their parents weren't from mills or something similar.
PRivate breeders, I've found, also tend to be more helpful in the long term. They become a part of your "glider family" and aren't just there for business.
For the record -- these are not sugar bears. They are sugar gliders. They have never been called sugar bears by anyone other than the mill breeder Perfect Pocket Pets.
That's funny, I take my gliders to THREE exotic vets (one that is their regular vet, and two others that are for emergencies/backup vets incase my regular vet goes out of town) and each of them have told me that sugar gliders ARE NOT sugar bears or honey gliders. They are SUGAR GLIDERS.
They are known as sugar bears and honey gliders by a certain mill breeder, and the vet that they have paid off.
how did you get your babys to bond with you being so scared as they are at first my lil guy dnt really want nothing to do with me any tips to get him to like me and not be so scared all the time?
go to perfectpocketpets and click on "bonding" in the free special reports section. I followed all of their advice and it has worked amazingly. It took a lot of time and for the longest time I thought Bear and Button hated me. It took two months but they are completely bonded. :)
@305nicatillidie i was told by the breeder we are buying from to purchase a small pup tent or a tent for kids. this way you dont have to worry about the gliders running off and there is enough room for you to play around with them in the tent. :D
they have a strong grip. sheesh!.

@fireflambe youre right, theyre called "sugar bears" by multiple MILL breeders.
SilverRaindr0ps 1 year ago
Sugar glider is the common name of them. The are also known as honey gliders and sugar bears cause of their love of sweets. T
hey are marsupials, animals that carry their young in a pouch.

They are NOT sugar bears or honey gliders.
x0hsweetn0thin 2 years ago
Hmm thats funny cause ive heard them called that many times. Both are very logical nicknames for sugar gliders because of their habits
And you said they changed the name to keep people from reaserching their care properly. Wouldnt that be a horrible thing to do?
xGingaWarriorx 2 years ago
Yes, that would be a horrible thing to do.

DreamsofCentaurs 2 years ago
Umm...
What can I say?
Your wrong.
These animals are COMMONLY and WIDELY known as:
Sugar Gliders,
Honey Gliders, and
SUGAR BEARS.
Ask any exotic vet that deals with these awesome little creatures and they will tell you the same thing. =p

*LMAO* Kill the feather...
and while yours look great, Perfect Pocket Pets are mill breeders and should be avoided. Like I said, your babies are precious tho :)
