My career as a public school teacher has taught me many things, but the constant thought that crosses my mind as I look back over those 30 years is how selfish many young people can and do become. Many think that the world "owes" them something, and are willing to steal outright if they haven't the willingness to try in the first place to achieve. It's sad, but that is reality, and we have lost the gift of respecting those who genuinely care about what goes on in the world.
When you have love you will do foolish things in the eyes of those who don't. I fear that many don't understand kind people like you and Mike who have a geniun concern for others.

When I first went on to the internet, I'd go to chat rooms to be with people who like the same things I do. Once in a while, we'd get what we called "trolls" ... people who are mean-spirited, shallow, nasty or otherwise fools. We found the best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them.
Just know we care about you and Mike and I just hope that these trolls don't ruin your day.

I agree with Nienna. Those people are not worth your time. A lot of the time they are just random folks who take pleasure in making fun of others, and giving them any sort of attention only fuels them. You have a LOT more people who respect you than who troll you.
So far, I have one troll/hater. from watching ONE video (out of 53) he's concluded that I'm fat (which I've never hidden), unemployed (not true-- I'm a self-employed writer), and stupid (which is impossible, since I'm in college), and that I "inhale fast food left and right" (not true-- my mom's food fills me up well enuff).
Still, he makes me laugh. So I did the worst thing you could do to a hater-- I *subbed* to him, and invited all my subbers to do the same. :)

It's nice of you to make a vid about something that shouldn't require any response at all. Some people just can't believe that anyone would do something for another person without expecting to derive a benefit for themselves. I suspect they're just projecting their own character onto others, which is never a smart thing to do.
The thing that (some) people forget is that you really don't need extreme physicality here. All you need is a way to run a computer and some kind of video editor.

I never doubted the authenticity of your friendship. But then I frequent your website and I have got to know Mike through there rather than through Youtube. Not that I really know him, but I have an idea of his motivations and his nature, and they are all good.

Always on the internet there are people who always think there's a hidden agenda behind everything, including friendships that started long before the haters were probably born. No-one should take rude people seriously. They are pathetic and they know it, so just tell Mike to ignore them because they want to hurt, but sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me.

My career as a public school teacher has taught me many things, but the constant thought that crosses my mind as I look back over those 30 years is how selfish many young people can and do become. Many think that the world "owes" them something, and are willing to steal outright if they haven't the willingness to try in the first place to achieve. It's sad, but that is reality, and we have lost the gift of respecting those who genuinely care about what goes on in the world.

Peter, Having watched Mike's videos I can see that he is always looking out for others who are picked on. I also appreciate his amazing knowledge of computers and the internet. Some people are just stupid and want to make things up in order to "be somebody." You and Mike have a beautiful friendship, and YouTube is a HOBBY, not a moneymaking venture! Just don't listen to such negative comments. Some people will just say things and they put no thought behind them. It's really a shame that people are so thoughtless and rude. If you can just forget about it and hopefully such bad comments wont happen again.

When I first went on to the internet, I'd go to chat rooms to be with people who like the same things I do. Once in a while, we'd get what we called "trolls" ... people who are mean-spirited, shallow, nasty or otherwise fools. We found the best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them.
Just know we care about you and Mike and I just hope that these trolls don't ruin your day.

I agree with Nienna. Those people are not worth your time. A lot of the time they are just random folks who take pleasure in making fun of others, and giving them any sort of attention only fuels them. You have a LOT more people who respect you than who troll you.

So far, I have one troll/hater. from watching ONE video (out of 53) he's concluded that I'm fat (which I've never hidden), unemployed (not true-- I'm a self-employed writer), and stupid (which is impossible, since I'm in college), and that I "inhale fast food left and right" (not true-- my mom's food fills me up well enuff).
Still, he makes me laugh. So I did the worst thing you could do to a hater-- I *subbed* to him, and invited all my subbers to do the same. :)

It's nice of you to make a vid about something that shouldn't require any response at all. Some people just can't believe that anyone would do something for another person without expecting to derive a benefit for themselves. I suspect they're just projecting their own character onto others, which is never a smart thing to do.

The thing that (some) people forget is that you really don't need extreme physicality here. All you need is a way to run a computer and some kind of video editor.

I never doubted the authenticity of your friendship. But then I frequent your website and I have got to know Mike through there rather than through Youtube. Not that I really know him, but I have an idea of his motivations and his nature, and they are all good.
