  • Where was I!? In fucking church!? This is religion. I'm going to Nordstrom for that outfit yesterday!

  • WAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW !

  • different coloured eyes??

  • @MrDummerdrummer1 no, it's the dillated pupil that makes the eye appear like that, resulting from eye injury when he was a kid

  • He's amazing seriously.

  • One of the best live performances I've seen in a while

  • What's wrong with his right eye?

  • @TheInnerOrchestra When he was young his best friend punched him in the eye while wearing a ring over a girl. They're still best friends.

  • Just read the article in Rolling Stone about him...never noticed his pupils were two different sizes (due to an injury). Saw it in the magazine cover picture, and it's clearly visible here, too.

  • 2 people are stupid!!!

  • Bowie is a fucking genius!

  • Awesome video ! I totally love Mick Ronson work with Bowie. It sounds great.

  • Awesome song, but why do they look like trannies?

  • @ToughGuyver hahaha they are androgenus

  • @ToughGuyver That was Bowie's thing. The character Ziggy Stardust was supposed to be an androgynous alien from Mars.

  • Wouaow!!!

Tell my wife I....... ;-) ....... Love her very much, she knows!!!!!

How sexy! And what an amazing video quality!

    Thanx!

  • Wow, that was amazing, one of the best from the period that i have ever seen!

  • there are no words... absolutely great!!!

  • This vid needs more than 5300 visits.

  • @GothAbby thanks!

  • justin bieber still wears more make up

  • Absolutely spectacular! How great were each and every participant here??? Its literally a supergroup. Love Aynsley Dunbars work with Bowie. What is the date of this performance....im guessing sometime in lat 1972 or 1973 as Ziggy is in full form and Woodmansy is missing...so im leaning towards 1973

  • @leonakita it was filmed between 18-20th October 1973, so your guess is right :)

  • This Ziggy version is TONS HEAVIER and more dramatic than the Original --- which is also a lot terrifying, too.

Michael Sheen in 'Tron Legacy' looks like Ziggy Stardust.

Watch Nicholas Roeg's film "The Man Who Fell to Earth". Bowie plays the title role, and it's brilliant. His best acting performance.

  • bowie is such a freak and i LOVE IT!!!!

  • a shame it has just 2500 visits:) nice vid thanx redsails2008

  • @MrHelloman2 thank you :)

  • that's... rare

    it's really rare.

  • Simply magnificent !! Scoobydoo thanks so much!!

  • Wonderful ! Really marvellous ! Look at Bowie with a perfect image makes me swim in the most absolute happiness ! Many many thank ! :- )

  • A very valuable and important document was missing in YT. Not only: perfect quality.

"Space Oddity" is one among the much by me beloved Bowie's masterpieces, being intrinsically inherent the poetics in Music of the Master.

Bowie has always tried to emulate Sounds and Visions from Cosmos, consonants compositions for a Dance of the Noble Consciousness within the human awareness... and only with a wonderful Greek Channel could be happened in such SYMPHONIA and HARMONIA ....

    THANK redsails2008.

  • @theMusicofmyLife1 Thank you so much for your kind words :-)

  • This is the high quality upload I have long waited for !!

Seeing and hearing Bowie sing this song back in 1973 on the 'Midnight Special' airing of the '1980 Floor Show' that night instantly changed my direction in musical taste. I had heard of Bowie but when he did this performance I said to myself : 'This guy is a musical genius and the best male vocalist I have ever heard'. The beginning of my journey into Bowie. An altering moment in music for me. Much thanks 'redsails' !!

  • @JJackAL52 I"m very pleased to hear this, I have always loved this performance of Space Oddity :-)

  • @JJackAL52 I"m very pleased to hear this, I have always loved this performance of Space Oddity :-)

  • @redsails2008 - Yes Marianna ... it was this broadcast of the '1980 Floor Show' that brought Bowie national exposure in the States. Wondering how you got this quaility? Is is from the 'Midnight Special' dvd's ? Thanks again!

  • @JJackAL52 Yes, it's from the Midnight Special dvds. The complete show and rehearsals/outtakes (as found here on youtube) exist on bootleg DVDs, do you happen to have them? I got them from a friend :-)

  • @redsails2008 - Marianna I do not have the 'Midnight Special' dvd's. I just saw them advertised the other day on tv with a brief clip of David performing this song.

I assume one has to buy the entire collection to get Bowie's show. Really nice of your friend to get them for you. btw I wonder why my previous comment appeared twice.

  • @JJackAL52 Hi Jack :-)

The Midnight Special DVDs only have Space Oddity from Bowie's show, so it's no worth buying so many DVDs for one song. I meant I got the DVDs with the extras from a friend. These DVDs can be found on the internet to download. They are not sold anywhere.

  • @redsails2008 - Thanks for making me aware that the entire show does not come with the dvd's. That's exactly what I was wondering ... if it was just 'Space Oddity' or the entire 'Floor Show' concert with the 'MS' set. For sure it's not worth buying in that case. I appreciate you letting me know and that you uploaded the song ;-)

  • @JJackAL52 you can buy the single dvd on amazon :)

  • Hi Marianna, This is so beautiful and vivid, thanks so much for posting.

  • Aynsley!!!!!!!!!!!!! (thanks for posting)

  • Thank you so much for this! I got the 1980 Floor Show but not in this quality, wish if I could find a better source.

  • David Bowie: amazing singer.. there is no singer like him in this world.

and Mick Ronson: fantastic guitarist. he is so cool.. ;)

  • Bewitching pair,astounding version,***** !!!!

  • thank you marianna ! a wonderful video ... we are lucky to have a fan like you on YT ... merci beaucoup :-)

  • Fantastic find. Very, very nice quality. :)

  • WOW!!!!!!!!! What fantastic quality... very beautiful.. thank you Marianna...

  • I'd not seen this before.

    Thanks.

  • Never seen this live before...This goes to favorites right now :)

    Thanks for uploading the video.

  • Who is the other guitarist playing a.. Les Paul?/?

  • See the description of the video, i've just edited it.

  • It's Mick Ronson. The Les Paul was originally black laquered (I believe) but he stripped off the varnish cause he liked the sound better. He played with David through all of his Ziggy days as one of the Spiders from Mars.

Speaking of the Spiders...Where's Mick Woodmansey? Is this from the Floor show for something?

  • Yes, it's from the 1980 Floor Show

  • it's Mick Ronson playing the Les Paul
