  • Would it ruin the whole recipe if I cooked without the nuts? they sound delicious! -Angie

  • @nkr1695 You can totally leave the nuts out.

  • This is good, but it's isn't one of the best I've seen. :) great job though!

  • The reason why the almond flavoring doesn't get incorporated throughout the dough is because you added the liquids in right with the sugars in their powder state, so the part of the sugar that the flavoring was poured on absorbed everything and therefore the flavoring didn't mix in. you should probably wait till after you've creamed everything together and then add the flavoring so it's sort of a liquid on liquid, and the flavoring will probably get incorporated better. same with vanilla.

  • How many stars would you give this cookie out of five?

  • @Heywhatsupdawg1111 I would say if you like hard chocolate chip cookies, it is a 4 (scale of 1-5). I have another one up that I just posted that I baked with my nephew--those I give a 5.

  • LOL AT THE PART YOU 'FAKED' IT AHAH.

  • @bellakacy1 glad you like it!

  • I just made these with the nuts you gave me. They were DELICIOUS. Thanks for the recipe :)

  • @cooknfan11 You're so welcome :)

  • OHH these look good. Shoot now I want chocolate chip cookies! i bet the macadamia nuts are what make them the best EVAH!

  • chocolate & any kind of nut is good. : )

  • Sounds terrific! But an hour to babysit cookies in the oven? Huh.

Maybe I will try... - roc

  • @popparoc46 do it!!

  • Oooh, Beth. This looks like a wonderful cookie. I am always on the hunt for the perfect chocolate chip cookie (crisp and light). This looks like it could be it. Thank you for sharing your recipe. No need to include me in your mac nut drawing as I can get it locally any time.

  • @MouseChirpy These are awesome if you can stand the oven being on for so long. It has been SO muggy the last two days!!! I do these at night when it tends to cool down a little

  • OH!! And I would love some nuts please!! Thank you!!

  • I will definitely give that a try, hubby loves cookies!! lol

  • Ohhh, cookies to die for!

  • I've seen recipes something like this but I thought OMG an hour to bake them? Seems like a long time but it makes a bit of sense at the lower temps. I bet they are so good. Hugs girl!

  • @imperceptibleme Yeah it does sound off but it really makes them awesome

  • Waiting 1 hr for cookies to bake.? That is just cruel and anti american!!! This recipe must have come from that same cookbook written by the communist who expected us to wait overnight for the cinnamon bread. Ok whatevah. When I get back on my foot I'll give it a go. Maybe I can make up for my absence at the 95 yr old's with some extremely good choc chip cookies

  • @jcrefasi1 lol yes agreed :)

  • I like how you narrated this! Sometimes I can't hear you because of the wind. Heehee. Looks really good! :D

  • @XxPuddingFaceXx once upon a time i used to have more time :(

  • These look really good! I think i will wait to winter to try them though, one hour with the oven on in this heat, i will surely die. lol

  • I'm also surprised with no egg(s). What is the texture like?.. A sand ball ...or butter cookie? I think I have to try these just o know what that hour does. I would love to try the macadamia nuts! (enter me please) I've never had them..although hazel nuts are about a dime a pound here.

  • @NaturalVrouw This vid was done a whle ago and it is so warm here that I do not do them often. However, if I remember correctly they were a little heavy. Nice heft to them

  • Those macadamia nuts and pecans make this recipe awesome, the long slow cooking is also really interesting -- thanks again

  • I figured you wore gloves to measure out the macadamia nuts for your giveaway, you are good like that :-) These look de-freaking-licous!!!

  • Anything that uses a pound of butter has to be heavenly, seriously.

Very interesting twist, lower temp for longer time..... Do they have the same texture as the ones baked at 350-375 for 8-15 minutes?

OMG on the comment about the hour! You couldn't be any clearer in the video instructions

  • @yoyomax12 nope, wayyyyy diferent texture. They aren't chewy. This is such an old vid. I never did the taste tests, etc.. sadly. They are heavy and dense. When you break them in half, they snap. but they are SO FREAKING GOOD!

And LOL @ the one hour comments. Even though I state it in the vid and in the description box I will always get people who question it.

  • Coooooooooookies!!! LOL...sure put me in the hat or whatever will be used I love macs

  • wow....a whole flippin hour? that's almost INSANE! lol

    mike

  • Looks really good. I did a recipe from Paula Deane and her cookies are fricken good!! I might have to try this when I get home!!

  • Here I am laid up with a sprained ankle and no goodies in the house and you keep torturing me with these desserts! Not fair!! I think you should apologize dang it! send me some cookies or some mangos or some dang macadamia nuts or some dang something!

  • Those look DELICIOUS and I would love the macadamias.

  • i read down your comments, yes i am nosy like that :) , and i saw you said they are crip cookies. i must make these, matter o fact i would make them right now if i had all of the ingredients. though i would substitute m&ms for the chips

i like the coloring they give to things :)

have a great week miss beth

    xoexo

  • 1 hour seems long...if i make them thin can it take less time?

  • @kareemtiheed It has to be the hour.

  • @CookingAndCrafting Are you really sure it has to be an hour?

  • You sound so serene narrating this. ;-) I am going to make these!! Delicious!! I want them macadamia nuts!! OMG they are my favorite!!!!!!

  • @Elvis66 good for you for following directions ;)

  • You sound so serene narrating this. ;-) I am going to make these!! Delicious!!

  • @Elvis66 They are the best you'll taste!

  • i mean i have no vanillia flavor

  • @MissouriAngel2 oooh okay. Yes, get some vanilla extract pronto haha

  • no eggs?

  • @MissouriAngel2 none :)

  • @CookingAndCrafting wow how did they taste i only have vanilla xtract i will have 2 get what u used

  • @MissouriAngel2 That's what it is--vanilla extract. Not imitation though.

These are INCREDIBLE. They are firm and have a crunch..snap.. Not chewy. They are so good it isn't even funny. The entire time they are baking them smell so flipping good. They would last a long time if you wanted to ship. But they will not last long in the house.
