  • The problem is that the birds will eat all of the ripe ones. I like to pick them heavy with juice if i get there first.

  • These are east coast cultivated elderberries, ours do not get a heavy yeast blush, these berries are ripe and soft with deep red juice and came off of the stems easily. We left some hanging still on the bushes to see if they would develop more of a blush but they just shrivel up like raisins. The video may not be show the berries the best but they are ripe and they make an excellent wine.

  • those berries you say are good are way to green.... they should be all blue with a dusting on yeast on them before picking for wine....
