I have a rather scary story! My chemistry teacher told me that a while ago, at my secondary school, the old lab technician put a chemical in a plastic container to store it away. the chemical reacted with the plastic container, and gave off some toxic fumes. the lab technician passed out, and then the school was evacuated. the firemen came in with their breathing apparatus! Sounded like a bad day at the lab... Maybe you could talk about recreating a story like this (safely lol)

Why would you need to centrifuge the blood for the CO experiment? The amount of white blood cells compared to red blood cells is tiny, so you can just add CO to the blood and have it go bright red.

Why do experiments sometimes not work at all? This is the second, perhaps third anecdote of the professor's that I've heard so far of an experiment that should have worked simply not working.

Maybe I'm naive, but if everything is mathematically correct, I don't see how experiments sometimes fail to work as they should.
