Maybe I've been playing too much New Super Mario Brothers Wii, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Sonic 4, but the colors and graphics just don't seem vibrant. The levels look...stale...

"Waaah Graphics doesn't make a game, noob!" I know that. If only people didn't say that every time someone mentions graphics. This IS the HD generation. I'm not saying the game looks bad. I'm just saying the graphics could be a LOT better.

This was a trailer. Things can change after a trailer was made. From looking at the game and then the trailer, I can definitely see it was brightened up. Just like Portal 2. They showed stuff in it that I didn't exactly see in the game.

@dermuneus The game offers different difficulties for veteran players. The final bits of the game are actually pretty difficult if you're not careful.

but really, that's not an issue anymore. it's a really well designed and fun game and I even got used to the visuals pretty fast too... even iif admittedly they could have been better.

Two different versions of the sequel, Sparkster, were then released after that. One on the Genesis and one on the SNES. Then he's been gone until now.

Folk that wanna argue gameplay over graphics forget that graphics were one of the most exciting things about playing the old Rocket Knight. It was a beautiful gaming experience on all levels. I've read the articles, so I know these developers got the right heart, but shipping a trailer with busy stage design & unfinished graphics makes the product look rushed. That, to me, says Konami's already betting on the folk "who don't care" to buy it, not the ones who do.

2 player co-op sounds awesome, I am starting to think without such mode it would be a little bit disappointing.

Graphics aren't the worst, some effects such as explosions, crystal pick up, ball firing and some other effects need to be polished.

This looks very early into development. It doesn't look like this game has been through the graphical clean up. My hope is the game speed is turned up, just a tad. Other than that, this looks so cool. Can't wait tot see the finished product of the latest game in a (nearly) forgotten franchise.

The SNES version of Sparkster (RKA2) fucking blows in comparison to the real version on Genesis.

This doesn't look that great in the graphics department but as long as the music is of the Genesis variety (quick paced, catchy beat and doesn't sound TOO classical) well then we have a winner!

There are plenty of games with bad graphics that have good gameplay. It's been like 15 years since they even made Sparkster game so be glad they are even reviving the underrated classic. I like it. The gameplay looks to be a mix of Rocket Knight Adventures/SNES Sparkster and Genesis Sparkster, and they've still got the shoot-em-up parts of the levels, Axel Gear (would love to see him playable as an unlockable character), giant boss fights, and the level design looks classic. I could care less about the game's graphics like everyone else is bitching about, I'm just happy we're even getting another Sparkster/RKA game to begin with.
