so it's not necessary for the film to explore in any great depth the inner lives of the supporting cast... they're only there to add a little exposition and dynamic to the pricipal cast... so there will have been many scenes left out because they would have over established relationships between other characters that will have ultimately slowed the pace of the movie down.. :)

In the editing room they will have been obligated to make the film's running time approx 90min but they will have had many other scenes shot with other characters. As you edit a film together you're primary objective is to tell the story through the eyes of your principal characters.. in this case it's Paddy Considine and the two boys..
