  • Who did Dacia conquer? Well in the times of Burebista they conquered all pontic greek cities between Olbia and Appolonia in the east, the celtic tribes of the Boii, Tauriscii, Scordiscii and Eraviscii in the west and also took the southern Danubian shore. In the north they stopped the bastarnae and sarmatian invasions.

So yes they did conquer, even if for a brief period. They even allied with Pompei against Caesar, and they defeated Domitian, then raiding and speading terror in all Moesia :D

  • Yes,and you did not ever read a book in your entire life! You'd better go to a library than post stoopid comments!

  • the romans kame to conquer Dacia because they were in crysis , after they conquerd us they taked our gold to cover their shit !!! am a proud romanian !!!

  • Jesus Christ, they didnt need 400,000 Soldiers that was their whole army you dum ass...they conquered Dacia, slaughtered em and got what they wanted with their army. Their army was the best in that whole time period. They were an efficient, trained, battle hardened, and equipped killing machine.

  • M8 your mitology is so pore you should read the antic greeks to see what Dacia really means.

Dacians were the strongest tribe of the Tracians.

And like Stuntdriver2007 say The Romans had asembley all their troops from all the Empire in order to conquer just the S-E of Dacia.

Imagin this the Empire who has conquer all Europe and Asia minor whit all they armies manage to half conquer the Dacia. This war cost them so much in soldiers that they make peace whit North-West Dacia to fight the mongols

  • Kiwis4life has a point, as do you. however, if we separate ourselves from the Roman myth (self created by the Romans) we can see that it was not just the Dacians they had trouble conquering. They used to utterly fear the Gauls, and believed them undominable, as too with the Britains. Let us not forget their many wars with Carthage and the Hannibals who pushed the Romans back to their own city. In comparison with these the Romans had less of a hard time conquering Dacia

  • they had less hard time conquering Dacia because Dacia was then at its weakest and the Roman Empire at its strongest, dacians slaughtered the 1st six roman leions sent, but sent just sent more the next time xD anyway result was the same/similar on the future descendants of the people who live there,I guess, for example the British English simplified vocabulary has about 80% words of latin origin xP

  • The Dacian Army was the second army in Europe, after the Roman Army. The emperor Trajanus had to use the entire force of the Empire (when the Roman Empire was at his height) to defeat the Dacians in two bloody wars. The Roman Army of Trajanus was 3 times larger than the army of Caesar in Gallia and 4 times larger than the Scipio's army used against Hannibal. Even so, they had very hard time and plenty of looses during those two wars against the powerfull and savage fighters of Dacia !!

  • You can not compare the weak and un-organized bands of Gauls or Britons with the agressive and mighty Dacian warriors. Remember that, the Dacians destroyed 6 (six) Roman legions and decimated the rest of the Roman Army The Gauls and the Britons never managed to destroy a single Roman legion !

  • Weak and unorganised?

Never destroyed a single Roman legion?

I think you need to rethink your sources I am afraid.

Also Gauls were anything but unorganised. They were every bit as 'civillised' as the Romans, but (like the Greeks before them) the Romans considered anyone not Roman as barbaric (the term barbarian comes from a Greek joke about all foreign languages sounding like they are saying 'barbarbar'). The Romans feared the Gauls as much as any foe. They made sure to utterly destroy them

  • for that reason.

Also @oneintelligentmuslim you have to bear in mind that Hannibal was attacking from a long way away, while the Dacians were fighting in their homeland, and that Caesar actually recruited many Gallic clans to his side, fracturing how much resistance he would have to face at any one time.

Also do not forget that no Roman even set foot on Britain for a very very long time due to their ferociousness.

I am not saying that the Dacians were in any way easy.

    The strength of...

  • the romans was their unwillingness to give up, simply wearing away any resistance they encounter.

  • @Flobblem You don't know that the Roman Empire don't win if a f*c*ing don't tell them where is the secret Citadel and how they could get there or they couldn't find our tezary 1600 kilograms of gold if someone don't tell them where exaclty are .So stop tell dacians are un organized or weak because they have the second army in the Europe and they have strengh bow mans and they heavy cavalery was verry powerfull.

  • actually Dacia was of little interest to the Romans (they were at truce after the Romans won severtal costly battles) until Trajan found out that it had a huge amount of gold beneath it, then he basically eradicated the civilisation from existence. look at Trajan's column, its basically about Dacia. In fact it was the germanic tribes and the Goths who made the romans leave much later.

  • 1600 tones of gold and 3000 tones of silver were NOT a "little interest" or?? Would you like to have them?? At least we would like to have them back again!! And look again at that column, and think about it, please, tks.

  • 1600 tones of gold....yes you are right they came here to steal and stoopid morons like mmadddog say we owe them...

  • What a sh.. of movie, ukcaelo you should try something else.

For the otherones, the ones who desire to know the truth, I suggest to look on youtube, "Genocid roman in Dacia" it is from Discovery Channel. In English.

    Thanks

  • I see big babies kidding...

  • dacia was a strong organisez country not relying on slaves like rome did, they kicked romes ass at tapae near sarmiszegethusa-dacias capital when rome invaded dacia, althought dacie fell, rome needed about 400 000 troops to conquer at least 18% of dacias territory to get the gold mines in the apuseni mountains

  • What was that dacians warrias figth with roman sodiers?
