  • What's the tail number on that BUFF?

  • Brings back memories; I was B-52 avionics, radar and computer technician in USAF ('76-'80). This is G or H model; you can tell because of the EVS/FLIR monitors. I never flew in one, but was once called on a "redball". A B-52 ready to takeoff on runway, but cannot because of maintenance issue. We fixed the issue in minutes (with engines running), but it was stressful having everyone waiting on YOU only. Luckily, it was easy swap out part and not a wiring issue which might have taken hours to fix.

  • I would love to fly in this plane.

  • do you have to go to college in the airforce to fly for the airforce ?

  • @evoldevildogs

Yes, you have to have a degree and be commissioned.

  • @evoldevildogs No. There is of course the U.S. Air Force Academy. But there is also the ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) which is an elective available at colleges throughout the country, for students who have their eye set on a commission in the military... Check out afrotc.com

  • @LateNightCable thanks man

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you for not putting some shit soundtrack to this video! Some find it annoying, but most of us LOVE jet noise!

  • Go Falcons!

  • Freaking cool!

  • they fly over my apartment complex each time their is a flyover at the academy, for footbal games or whatever. i have a front row seat to the flyover before the go down to the academy. sweet video.

  • those cadidiots do not deserve the honor of a buff review...nothing more than a bunch of date raping frat boys.

  • @jjjazzycraig u must be either a stupid civillian or ROTC. either or you sound ignorant.

  • @smguy101 - i am a combat vet who is UNDERWHELMED by the usafs close air support abilities...although i was impressed with the shagging i got from a female Lt. from pope afb.

  • @smguy101

Exactly! No real vet I know would say anything so fucking STUPID...

  • @jjjazzycraig

... I wouldnt say that.. I called them Ring Tappers...

  • when I join the air force I wanna fly the B52 :D

  • @jdmifsud14 Hope you have a bachelors degree :)

  • @beagleman18 lol well Im still in High School so thats gonna take a while. but I know I'll get there :D

  • Awesome. That's gotta be full flaps floating that slow over the community center.

  • No flaps. 250 kts.

  • What an ugly, slow, fat, awesome aircraft.

I don't think we'll see anything quite like it again...

  • Big Ugly Fat Fucker is back! USAF plans to remain it 'til 2030+! What a good news!

  • @ssqouat

The plan to keep it till 2040.

  • Where Major Kong?

  • No we dident but a car can be controlled by a fence or guard rail. A plane cannot. Do we really need to have every jehadi buying planes and crashing one into buildings? We would be giving up control of our airspace. Unlike cars we cant just pull them over before they do something they should not be doing. How would we support the mass influx of people going to airports all of a sudden every one is driving to airports, they would need to make thousands of new airfields. Neat but not practical.

  • I wish they'd make small affordable planes - something like the size of cars we could jet around in. It sucks that planes are out of the average Americans price range.

  • are you nuts! Think of how many bad drivers are out there, now give them an airplane and see what kind of chaos will follow!

  • Well - we didn't toss out the automobile because there's bad drivers, did we? How about I give you a little time to think this one over? The same thing could be said for a shit-load of other things. too. But It probably wouldn't work to good with millions of people doing it. You'd have to have some kind of traffic control.

  • Trouble is, half the drivers on the road are dicks, with at best bad habbits, & at worst are agressive ignorant assholes.

Imagine that combination, with personal aircraft.

    ;-)

  • It sucks that your average male under 25 abuses alcohol. Thousands of alcohol/vehicle related deaths per year and you want to add more speed and power? It'd be a neat idea but people are people, it'd never work even if your average person could afford it.

  • @gandhicakes

Well - maybe we should just turn off life because there's thousands of assholes in every part of it. Sorry - but it's your plan that will "never ever" work.

  • @HemiHead66 you seem to have taken this way more seriously than I have. Are you actually planning on mass marketing personal use airplanes? Seriously consider your comment there, your generalization is so far fetched and open ended it has no relevance. My point is, it is not feasible simply because there are too many ways to abuse it. I don't care if one person gets drunk and flies into the floor. Imagine a suicidal man with an airplane, a lot more possible damage than a car.

  • So that's what my house looks like from the air!

For those arguing AGL/MSL, my house is at 6700 feet and there is a ridge between us and the USAFA, so 4000MSL would be kinda tough.

Love the free air shows during football season, need more next year, this past season's flyovers were pretty weak.

  • Cool... can you believe there are some people who actually would rather *not* have a B-52 fly over their house... hehe...

  • @Z0ne5ive Well, yeah! They're called the Taliban!

  • If I had pissed off anyone in the federal govt.. I wouldn't want one flying over MY house either..

  • This airshow reminds me of topgun

  • howabout assholes like u?

  • That's why I mentioned that top pilots don't always choose fighters. I know not everyone wants to be a hotdog.

  • Heck, even the bottom of the class get to fly cool stuff. Top of the class usually, not always, pick fighter duty.

  • Damn, i've just realized now that military aircraft ar similar to sportscar from one point of view.

Are all about performances no matter how loud it is. I don't think they use much dampener panels like the liners.

    It's noisy in there. O_O

Nice stuff anyway, reminds me the movie 'Dr.Strangelove'.

  • Its not just the sound dampening, you will find the turbines on those bad boys are built with far more lift ability due to the remarkable weights they need to carry... combining the issue.

  • I would give anything to fly in one of these.

  • lierrrrr

  • Hi, Genius!

Let's say you're at 4000 feet MSL (feet above sea level) and you fly over a 3000 foot mountain. Guess what, you're now at 4000 MSL and 1000 AGL.

    Idiot.

  • stupid crapsholes (assholes)

  • the air force is a shell of its former self...it suffers from the same disease NASA has...good men and better leaders are not welcome.

  • explain, sounds interesting to me. I might join.

  • Air Force 4 life i wanna join up sooooo bad

  • this is what i want to do :]

i want to get good grades, go to a air force academy, hopefully go to flight school, and be a pilot :]

i'm 15 right now so i got a long road ahead of me

  • That's a good goal, hope you make it. I'm an ex-Air Force navigator, if I may make a suggestion: Go to college on ROTC, you'll like it a lot better than the Academy. Or just go to college, then OCS, which is what I did. 3 months of training to become a 2nd Lt. versus 4 years at the Zoo. (and getting accepted to the academy is not easy) Have a normal college life, you'll enjoy it more than being a cadet for 4 years.

  • thanks :] i really hope i can make it

being a pilot would be a dream come true

  • By perseverance, study, and eternal desire, any man can become great. -General George S. Patton

He lived those words, now it is your turn to do the same. Remember, the challenge ahead of you is nothing compared to the support behind you!

  • How do you get into OCS? I'm 14 and have the same plan as Midgetman125

  • Same plan as me. Either Air Force academy or Naval. im 15 too! im gunna do everything i can to get in

  • no way im 16 and i wanna go to the academy

  • U the pilot? If so, did u graduate from the Hill?

  • You got it. It was pretty cloudy that day but once we got down below about 4,000 feet we were below all of it.

  • @dozers4 I hope you mean 4000ft over ground, otherwise, you're about 3000 ft in the ground :)

  • @mdocod AGL

  • Great video... appears to be coming in from the south and after flying over the terrazo, & field house going east?

looks like it was a great day to fly!!!

    Love Cockpit videos!!!
