These are all amazing cars...and 10 years ago anyone of them would be a supercar...Personally, I like the C63...the torque the AMGs provide makes what most drivers do in the real world more rewarding...I have an E55 and it is about as fast as cars come...and where it falls short on the track...well I drive my Lotus...most folks in this segment have multiple cars...I have 6.

Hey dummy the IS F quad exhaust is a true quad exhaust I own one. The quad muffler pipes are about and inch away from the tips so they don't melt the rear bumper. It's really four pipes coming out from the muffler.
What hit me most is the depth of BMWs philosophy. I felt that strongly in the M3. it is very compliant when you turn in to corners and has great rear stability. It provides both security and comfort
On the other hand the IS-F...
The most impressive part of this car is the electronics, which are finely programmed. In that area it is much better than the M3
However a strong issue about the IS-F, that needs improvment: is the basic chassis performance

Merc is a torque monster - ISF is a lovely thing and M3 eats the revs. Day to day (street) the C63 is the obvious choice - for point of difference it's the ISF and if you want to go track daying (how often??) take the M3.
I have driven all these cars and the M3 is clearly the best balanced and most refined of the three. The Lexus and Mercedes both have more torque but the M3 revs much higher and so the torque to the wheels is better, which is why the M3 acceleration is right between the IS-F and C63. The tranny in the IS-F is awful when downshifting, it literally takes a second or two to get down a gear while slowing, while the M3 with the DCT is instant. Both the C63 and IS-F are front heavy, hurts handling.
This new Lexus does impress, but I could not pick between the ISF and the M3, as both are great when it comes to performance as well as styling. What I don't understand is why people don't give the Lexus any credit. Not to mention that saying it is an expensive Toyota is completely uneducated. That's like saying a Bugatti is just an expensive Volkswagen, and a Cadillac is just an expensive Chevy. The Lexus Line Up was the first to implement push button start, touch screen navigational system, blue LED lighting with High intensity discharge lamps, keyless entry with remote and advance parking guidance system. I go both a 2004 Mercedes S430 Black on black and a 2006 Lexus LS430 black on black.
C63 = most powerful but also heaviest. great for drag, but most slippage of the 3 so rain/snow conditions does cause a problem.
IS-F = most luxury, comfortable and reliable. It is also a speed monster, being faster than the M3 in a straight line but handling isn't as good, and just a tad bit behind the Merc. However, much better daily driver. Depends on all the electronics.
M3 = best handling, and best base ride. Turn off all the electronics and that's the true beauty of the M3.
Why is a heavy car great for drag? Is the C63 AMG slippery because of weight or road conditions? What is luxury? Describe comfortable. Will it last the longest and have the least problems out of the three (when taken care of the same)? Is it really faster than the M3 in a straight line an if so how much faster? I thought Handling on ISF was good? What is a better daily driver vehicle? I would say a Nissan 370z over a Toyota Camry. What is best base ride?
@heartlessvietboy it's not the heavy part that matters, it's the power. The extra power of the C63 outweighs the extra weight. It's slippery because of the car (inferior traction). Comfortable = Lexus/Merc. Lexus reliability > Merc/BMW anyday. 0-100 wise, ISF is not faster by much, but in a long drag the distance will gradually grow. ISF handling is good but relies on electronics, turn them off and it's not so great. Better daily driver = better commuter = comfortable, reliable, efficient.
I would call it natural ride instead. Ride without electronics interfering. How many buttons (actual electronics) in the car that would interfere with your ride?
Mercedes Benz is obviously the best car out of all 3. Especially when you look at history, MB has been producing their vehicles since the last decade of the 19th century, were looking at 120+ years.. Take Bmw or Lexus, they did not officially exist till the 1970's and their cars were cheap priceless junk compared to Mercedes. So Lets not even compare a bmw Especially a Lexus to a MB. My point is that the, Japs still got alot of Catching up to do....!!!

Ford has been around for centuries and their cars are crap. BMW the company make has been around since 1916. Lexus is fairly new but has been building the cleanest luxury cars. I have a 2010 M3 and it's not a car, it's an ANIMAL!! Anyone who thinks a glorified Toyota Corolla is anywhere near the Germans is beyond dumb. In fact, I am not going to lie, I was one of those who could not keep up with this, so I got rid of this damn BMW and got myself Honda, Toyota and now Infiniti G35 Coupe. All of them gave me no troubles, at all, my G35 Coupe is still going like a tiger in every way and also has this great image. Because, G35 Coupe is in the end, Nissan Skyline 350GT in Japan, I love Skyline.
Anyway, I left Euro for good because I refuse to be a slave to repairing cost.

I have driven all these cars and the M3 is clearly the best balanced and most refined of the three. The Lexus and Mercedes both have more torque but the M3 revs much higher and so the torque to the wheels is better, which is why the M3 acceleration is right between the IS-F and C63. The tranny in the IS-F is awful when downshifting, it literally takes a second or two to get down a gear while slowing, while the M3 with the DCT is instant. Both the C63 and IS-F are front heavy, hurts handling.

This new Lexus does impress, but I could not pick between the ISF and the M3, as both are great when it comes to performance as well as styling. What I don't understand is why people don't give the Lexus any credit. Not to mention that saying it is an expensive Toyota is completely uneducated. That's like saying a Bugatti is just an expensive Volkswagen, and a Cadillac is just an expensive Chevy. The Lexus Line Up was the first to implement push button start, touch screen navigational system, blue LED lighting with High intensity discharge lamps, keyless entry with remote and advance parking guidance system. I go both a 2004 Mercedes S430 Black on black and a 2006 Lexus LS430 black on black.

C63 = most powerful but also heaviest. great for drag, but most slippage of the 3 so rain/snow conditions does cause a problem.
IS-F = most luxury, comfortable and reliable. It is also a speed monster, being faster than the M3 in a straight line but handling isn't as good, and just a tad bit behind the Merc. However, much better daily driver. Depends on all the electronics.
M3 = best handling, and best base ride. Turn off all the electronics and that's the true beauty of the M3.

Why is a heavy car great for drag? Is the C63 AMG slippery because of weight or road conditions? What is luxury? Describe comfortable. Will it last the longest and have the least problems out of the three (when taken care of the same)? Is it really faster than the M3 in a straight line an if so how much faster? I thought Handling on ISF was good? What is a better daily driver vehicle? I would say a Nissan 370z over a Toyota Camry. What is best base ride?

@heartlessvietboy it's not the heavy part that matters, it's the power. The extra power of the C63 outweighs the extra weight. It's slippery because of the car (inferior traction). Comfortable = Lexus/Merc. Lexus reliability > Merc/BMW anyday. 0-100 wise, ISF is not faster by much, but in a long drag the distance will gradually grow. ISF handling is good but relies on electronics, turn them off and it's not so great. Better daily driver = better commuter = comfortable, reliable, efficient.

Mercedes Benz is obviously the best car out of all 3. Especially when you look at history, MB has been producing their vehicles since the last decade of the 19th century, were looking at 120+ years.. Take Bmw or Lexus, they did not officially exist till the 1970's and their cars were cheap priceless junk compared to Mercedes. So Lets not even compare a bmw Especially a Lexus to a MB. My point is that the, Japs still got alot of Catching up to do....!!!

Are you part of an engine building team? Have you ever been to the manufacturing plant to see a certain Mercedes be assembled? How would you know? Ford has been around for centuries and their cars are crap. BMW the company make has been around since 1916. Lexus is fairly new but has been building the cleanest luxury cars. The Japanese have surpassed other motor companies in racing performance and electronics.

The information he presenting is Wrong the MB C-Class AM63 Does NOT have 100 bhp more than the BMW M3 and Lexus IS-F. The MB C-Class has around 451 hp and the BMW M3 has around 414 hp and the Lexus IS-F 420 hp.

The LEXUS, unlike the others is the perfect symbiosis between a performance car and a comfortable car and it is, obviously, LEXUS: Paying for a impressive car from an impressive maker instead of just a brand.

I have a 2010 M3 and it's not a car, it's an ANIMAL!! Anyone who thinks a glorified Toyota Corolla is anywhere near the Germans is beyond dumb. The Merc is tail happy and doesn't handle like a BMW, if it did the boys in the M division would be fired immediately. I think that Audi should be in here not an over priced Toyota.

The figures are wrong! The M3 has 420 BHP, the C63 has around 450 BHP, that's not 100 BHP. The C63 has 6.2 litre engine. Get your basic facts right!

@gambietti the s4 is the equivalent of the BMW 335i xdrive and C350 AWD. Thus not the performance status they are looking for. Many mistake it for more then it is. The new RS5 might fit in that contest thought, but it most likely wassen't out at that time (2008), neither was the b8 S4

In fact, I am not going to lie, I was one of those who could not keep up with this, so I got rid of this damn BMW and got myself Honda, Toyota and now Infiniti G35 Coupe. All of them gave me no troubles, at all, my G35 Coupe is still going like a tiger in every way and also has this great image. Because, G35 Coupe is in the end, Nissan Skyline 350GT in Japan, I love Skyline.
Anyway, I left Euro for good because I refuse to be a slave to repairing cost.

Not all Euro cars are prob unreliable, but most likely a lot of them are.
But, let me tell you something, many of the people who buy the European cars are most likely suffering from its real bad reliability. Do you think they buy the Euro cars for reliability? No. They buy them for image. And only those who can afford all the repairs do not complain and keep owning them like slaves and the people who can not afford abandon those pieces of junk and leave them for good.

One thing in common. Those SUVs are utterly useless in off roads but they are just "fast" SUVs. ....fast? SUV? If I wanted a fast car, I don't even go for an SUV to begin with. And yet, the Germans apparently think SUVs should be fast.
On the other hand, Toyota Land Cruiser. Complete off road killer and super reliable. Isn't this what an SUV is supposed to be seriously?

heh, nope. I am not even going to bother buying a European car, since they just kill my wallet. But, let me say this, as an Infiniti owner myself(and my father as well, Infiniti M35X, which will eventually be mine later on), I now have this great pride in the brand Nissan/Infiniti and feel proud whenever Nissan GT-R tries to take down Porsche(which is of course, extremely powerful brand) on Nurburgring. I am originally Japanese anyway, so I feel that way even more.

I agree with you. But did you know that not a single European automaker(especially German and British) is making reliable cars right now? Even Consumer Reports, the 2010 models, apparently BMW's only most reliable car is 3 series and their best is still just "Average". Is this some kind of a joke? Mercedes is apparently "trying" and some models are "Average". Is average their best when Lexus LS always gets "Perfect"?
