Even though I like Madonna. Whitney was the #1 artist of the 80's and Madonna was #2. She couldn't touch Whitney in talent and she has not and shall not beat any off records. And I would put Cher #3, Janet #4, Cyndi #5 and Tina #6

While the top two, Whitney and Madonna are correct, not sure the others ones are in the right order. That is because if it is based on album and single sales for that decade Sheena Easton, Diana Ross and Olivia Newton John I think would be in the top ten. I doubt Cher, Debbie Gibson or Paula Abdul would make the cut.

FYI : kim wilde is the biggest british female singer of the 80's , she scored the highest number of top 10 hits in uk charts from 1981 till 1989.but to be fair she flopped in the 90's .

There careers were short lived but Kim Wilde's is 30 years strong with 12 studio albums. She also has a greatest hits albums which Debbie or Paula can't say. So, don't give me this crap.
