The bottom of the pot should NOT rest in a plate as here as water will hang around and encourage mould problems. A couple of bricks raising the pot OFF the ground /plate is best. Not only will the water drain away almost entirely but air will circulate around the bottom of the pot, and air promotes GOOD microbes whereas the darkness of the pot touching the plate will promote BAD microbes.
