In my video The Best Beginner Telescope for Under $200 I explain the advantage of the equatorial mount. You would have to point South where I say to point North if you're in Australia. The latitude of Melbourne is 38 degrees. Just set the latitude thing to 38 and when you set the telescope down make sure the base points South. Then you only need to turn one knob to take out the Earth's rotation. I hope I got this right, I have never been south of the equator.
@TheAstroChannel99 Cool. I am guessing the hour numbers will be labeled backwards for the Southern hemisphere but most people wouldn't be using that anyway.
