Adobe Photoshop Elements 5: Creating a scratch disk

Can I just use the D drive as my photoshop scratch of should I partition it further to say 10GB and use the 10GB as a scratch. Should I use the shrink feature to do this or create a partition - any advice greatly appreciated and I am sure it will help others in the same problem as me. Thanks you.

Okay I have new laptop with OS (C:) 87GB drive and Data (D:) 153GB drive.

When I go to disk management I have:

Disk 0 289GB Basic which comprises three blocks:

25GB healthy (primary partition),

119GB (C:) NFTS system boot page crash dump

153GB (D:) NFTS Logical drive

what if all the disks get full...?.....my C:/ disk is full now and i can't save more of my work....isn't there a way to empty these disks......???.....please reply......

Everyone who tries to open photoshop and it say cannot open because scratch disks are full. I had the same problem and instead of opening it normally i ran it as administrator.  I hope this helps you guys.

I get the message, "Could not initialize Photoshop because the scratch disks are full". So I can't even start photoshop to even get to the preferences in the first place. Does anyone know of any other way to sort this scratch disk problem out?

Yeah, I can't use photoshop because now it says "Scratch Disc Full" so I try and change it, but it doesn't let me. HELP ME PLEASE!!!

k its generalgoopy but not on his act. whats wrong is your comp is outa space. i deleted like 8GB in video and all was well Goof luck :D
