Yes and NO to what you stated. In his case specifically, he agreed to his contract based on the fact that certain steps would be present:1) 3 people per Humvee and 2) the Humvees would have armor. These guys took there contracts at face and with those precautions they assessed that they could reasonably make it out. BUT the company did not keep their end of the agreement. Which is no surprise to me, but it is criminal at the very least.

US soldiers are covered by SOFA (Status of Foreign Assignment) agreements between the US and the host country and so local labour laws do not apply to them. So how about Blackwater?
