  • I have built the same ginpole based on web article. I'm using it for mast raising first time this WE.

I'm curious why you need the a frame. The C22 has aft lowers as well as uppers. Wouldn't these be in place and help create needed stability while lowering.

  • Works good but seems like a lot of work to sit up. I put up and take down the mast on my 30' Clipper with just a jib sheet attached to the main halyard ran to the rear thru a pully and around the winch. Mast is hindged and goes forward I usually do it on the water at the dock before I trailer or after I have it to the dock.

  • Nice truck! Really nice tow vehicle and with a small block, the best fuel economy.

  • Nice truck

  • pretty snazzy!!! I like the one person operation.

  • Interesting. How long does it take to totally step the mast.

  • It takes me about 5 minutes to step my mast on my 1989 catalina 22 by myself with out all that stuff. I do use a mast up.

  • @piedpiperIII -Can you give a description if a "mast up"? Many Thanks

  • Interesting setup, BUT...

Ever hear of close-ups? Mast crutch fit into pintles? Gin pole attaches to mast? Fitting mast into base fitting? Details MAKE a good video; this could have been much more useful.

  • Interesting comment, BUT...

Ever hear of politeness and skipping the sarcasm until you at least have uploaded your own videos? Positive, friendly, constructive suggestions MAKE a worthwhile comment. Yours could have been much more positive and constructive. :-)

  • thanksfor this
