Of all the cover drummers i have seen and heard, this guy blows everyone out of the water! Pure perfection with sound, mimic and timing. If geddy asked him to play any song in concert with them he'd be ready!
Thanks for the input. Keith Moon to me was a great drummer, I describe his work as always "busy" and in songs like " "Reign o'er me" inspirational. Ringo , I think had the right sound that complitmented the music of the Beatles, a good drummer but not in the vein of Rush or others...Once again, I have the greatest admiration for your education and chosen profession and then you have my admiration for you ability as a drummer, plain and simple, you are goooood! Say Hello to the family for me!
I hope you and the family are doing well! Once again, good, good sounds, thank you! I wanted to ask you what do you think of Keith Moon and Ringo Starr as drummers? I love your work or is it play? Take the best of care of you and the family and a sincere thank you for entertaining us, after all, ft astrophysics peters out (lol) , you could always take the universe by storm with your muscianship!!!
@nutz4all Thanks! I both like Moon and Starr as drummers. Moon was eccentric, to say the least, but his drumming was also musical and quite innovative at times. Ringo has been a subject of debate for years among drummers. I have total respect for him. You do not need to be a technical wizard to be a musical drummer. Where would Ringo have applied triple paradiddles at 200bpm in Beatles music anyway? ;) He did his job and did it well.
AWESOME performance! So many things to compliment you on.... I think the way you switch between rim clicks and snare hits and then playing open handed.... just wow! If I close my eyes and just listen to this cover, I could not tell that it was you and not Neil behind the set.
Excellent work, as usual, P! For some reason Youtube did not notify me about this upload so I only stumbled on this upload from last month today. This is one of my favorite Rush tunes - complex just how I like it :)
I've been a Rush fan probably as long as you and I gotta tell you you're fantastic! Keep it up and.....can I request "Secret Touch" and "The Main Monkey Business"? They're both should be really challenging for you and sound great! I'm sure the Professor would be proud!
WOW! Dude, you can PLAY! This is coming from a long time accomplished drummer ... and I am impressed!!!! Curious what type cymbals you use - I realize it would be too time consuming to list them all - but what is the ride you're using, and the hi hats? Also what type double pedal do you use? Keep up the great work!!
God you have talent... has Neil ever contacted you in any way? For this you deserve to at least be contacted or something, I don't care how good of a drummer you are you HAVE to have SERIOUS talent and great timing to be able to do this. 5 stars and props.
@DWdrumswPaiste Thanks! No I never heard from anybody in the Rush camp. It's ok, they have better things to do and this is not at all why I do these videos.
@Astrotama Trust me, you will be contacted sometime, they are good at recgonizing people. And i'm sure it's not, BUT who wouldn't wanna be contacted by the great Neil Pert or Ghetti Lea lol. Keep up the work.
@mjcygnus Hopefully, soon. The band has been moving at a slow pace in the last few months but we have plans to pick it up after the holidays, with gigs soon.
Tama: I gotta ask again: Would you consider a short "Didacts and Narpets" rendition from Caress of Steel? IDK why, its just that precursor before Ged hits that insanely high note on "No One At The Bridge" that just kicks old school RUSH ass!!!!
And yes...BTW: Dude, you did it again. Smokin Tama!!! Well done~~
Hey, would you mind donating your drumset to the I Wish That Was Mine charity? (IWTWM) And a small building to play in so my parents dont yell as me when they're watching TV?
Astro: have you ever thought of doing different camera angles? This one is great for a wide angle shot of your whole kit, but a top view would be awesome! And do you mic your kit or just use the camera's built in one?
@RedBarchetta47 Top view would be kind of hard, unless I take down the roof! ;) I have two camcorders so I might try something different, some day... The problem is editing the stuff and I prefer to play than to spend hours editing in front of my computer... The sound is directly taken through my Canon camera.
@Astrotama damn that camera has one heck of a mic then, but I know what you mean about time constraints. I always promise myself I'm going to make some videos or record something but then I end up using that time playing more and more.
Hey, thank you for posting this. One of my favorite songs, on one of my favorite albums. As always, great cover, and great set! Might I suggest doing a cover of a song like Red Sector A (aslo one of my favorite songs) which could show your electronic kit a bit more! Just a thought =) Keep up the great work!
Nice job, man!! I have to say you've got the best quality in all the Rush cover drummers I've seen. I love your approach to each song, and the kit makes the nut for sure. I cant wait to see what's next!
FUCK! You are a DAMN GOOD drummer! I hope your band gets signed soon.
Will you play at my 40th b-day party?
