Countries, that know only the springtime And your green fields, with your scentin' of hay Know Ringo, with his angel face And a woman, who was waitin' for his return Cross the canyons he laughed Down the valley the death And he left behind a river of blood For his life was guided By a crude law He only had a mind to get gold

Thank you, I have been searching for this since I bought Ennio Morricone's Western Themes on CD. What a wonderful voice, I could listen to him all day!!! XXXXXXXXXXX
@LazyGigolo You have to be kidding, also have you ever been to Alabama, or the U.S. for that matter? Graf is a talented singer but the absurdity of what you said is hilarious...
@LazyGigolo How is it ironic? Because what you said is dumb Maurizio Graf's song is dumb? This isn't "blues" by any means so if he were to sing blues horribly, what's the problem? This is just a great Italian pop ballad sung in English by an Italian.
@LazyGigolo Bingo. You hit the mark. That's because the Italians are the SUPREME MASTERS when it comes to wild-west movies & soundtracks. Kudos to them!!
it's a great coincidence but i say the same.after 12 years since i listen for first time this song, when i was 10, around 1996-7 (along with others of Ennio's for western) in a cassette,i finally see the man who sings this dreamly song.i have connected very strong inside me this song and the others of cassette, with my past child life.
Amazing Voice!!!

Rivers, you know how is the story
And his laughin' was a presage of death
Ringo had an angel face
But whenever Ringo laughed, Ringo fired
Ringo had an angel face
But whenever Ringo laughed, Ringo fired

I've never seen Mauricio before. In my imagination he's a hero. But now, to me he's an ordinary man. With a very good voice !

Eu adoro este vídeo, bem como a música e o cantor, pena que não existam mais registros sobre a pessoa dele, tem uma voz fantástica.

excellent song...
and i've read that he wasn't chosen for his voice, (which is great BTW) but because he sounded 'english' enough. Many many thanks for this post!

Even if his English lyric did get a bit lost in translation, this is still a Morricone gem.
