i know this isn't the final version of the shatterer possibly but if we would fight giant bosses like him, for extra challenge i'd like to see all of them or reasonably at least some of them completely immune to all or a good ammount of conditions
what i hate about all these WOW fanboys and stuff is they dont consider these raids...when in fact they technically are. You need a large group of ppl brought together to bring the boss down...just because it isnt restricted to an instance doesnt mean it isnt a raid.

I'm sorry but LOTRO bosses will still put shame to these bosses which are just hit and move and hit. In LOTRO you actually need to use proper tatics to complete.
@Aragashia Some bosses, but harder than that. You get debuffs that hitting something could one shot you, some bosses require you to move somewhere then kill something a certain speed or not kill, or even pull a leaver. Does GW have any of that? no. Will it? no.
@Aragashia I'm not saying anything would prevent it. It's just the way ArenaNet do their games you won't see that, which, is what I'm into, but don't get me wrong GW 2 looks amazing and I'll be getting that aswell. I'm just being picky :P

Granted I don't know, but I would assume that fights tailored for organized groups will be far harder than mid-level world events such as this. Just my take on the matter.
@0oConorJRoystono0 Since there's no "Dedicated Roles", you've 2 additional things to think of: Making sure that you're there for your teammates, healing/buffing/?? them when needed (Everyone has Alot of tools, Class-themed though), aswell as making sure that they don't have too much beating them - and protecting them/dividing the beating if it's needed.
@phaddephadde There's no target heals any longer. Each profession has it's own form of a heal and there may be a pots system but, when it comes to healing or regen, you're on your own. Allies can only pick you up if you're downed and revive you if you die before you warp to a safe zone.

Why is everyone complaining about the bos sstanding still? The boss is attacking everyone on the map. There is no fucking tank that takes all the bosses shit. And even if there was a tank it would stand still anyway.
What bothers me is the high lvl cap from beginning.
And it looks like they will have a lot of cannons and stuff (instead of wows awful vehicles) which I don't like in 5player BG's and boss events. I prefer if to fight with my characters skills and abilities. But that's just me.
It really does look amazing. However, have no fear of the high leveling. For one, always remember that reaching level 80 does not hinder your ability to jump into pvp at any time, because everyone gets the same equips, and the level boosts. Secondly, look into the leveling system that guild wars 2 will have. 80 levels time wise is much MUCH less than 80 in WoW.

Am I the only one concerned with the death/revival system? Boss fights seem too casual now. Do as much damage as you can, die, get revived by anyone on your team in a few seconds, keep fighting, revive your buddy, die, get revived, etc. Boss fights without difficulty? Am I wrong about the death system or is it really without repercussions?

IF you fail to protect a town, they take it over. They build walls, and war machine their, like Catapults, and they build armies their, which then they send out to take over other towns.
So if you fail, best thing you can do is, run back and try and take the town back.
Because if you don't soon their be so powerful their, it take a army of players to retake that town.

A-net lead content designer (actually talking in this video) said on an interview that the computers they're using to develop the content are the ones they started out with and their graphics cards are so old that you can not even buy them anymore...and they can still run the game perfectly...that tells a lot of how low the minimum requirements will be :))
@xOrangexe No need to panic about performance issues. Just wait for official system specifications. If you're using a desktop you could always just buy parts instead of a whole new pc.
Remember all ..its been announced the end loot is absed on a star system *Gold/Silver/Copper or Bronze *
its based on how long and how much you participated int he event chain ... so its literally impossible to just jump in at the last five minutes and get a GOLD reward like a person who was there the whole time.
keep that in mind if you wanted to exploit that system >.< ..like kill-stealing also wont work. because there will be a separate chest/loot for everyone.
@3lprim0 Kralkatorrik, that's the name of The Shatterer's master. And his backside was easily viewed in one of the Charr areas in Gw1 if you looked around in the Eye of the North expansion.

@Mongerzz There's no raids in guild wars 2, notice he is not in a party? This means anyone can join in from what I understand. Its more a group killing of a huge boss, and everyone who took part can get the treasure.
@Tazzako There is no raiding. There are bosses that appear at the end of event chains. such as Elder Dragons... anyone can take part in clearing events outside of main story-lines. But your right, they will be huge !

Basically there will be this event that happens and afterwards they ask you to do something else, something else and finally after doing them all this dragon shows up. But it might be random if your running by and suddenly this huge dragon is "there" :o Just the thought would scare me!

@WayTyler fights against an elder dragon will last about 10 days for 600 people to break through one of its scales. Of course they should all be coordinated to hit the same scale over and over again. After that some warriors need to be fired with catapults onto the opening and cut their way to the heart. This would take about 3 days. Minecraft would be nothing compared to it. Just dreaming. But I hope at least 500 players would have to participate to take it down.
@richielclark There is no way GW2 is coming out in November mate, sorry. For reference, SW:TOR is further in development and looking at a Holiday release, possibly going into January. I'd say this is going to be Spring 2012, perhaps Summer.
@KristianMonster if you fail dynmaic event you get new event for example if you fail to protect city you have to rebuild it or protect workers while they rebuild it.

@AnAngryBeaver14 Yeah. Well technically ofcourse it's huge but compared to an elder dragons it's like a mouse compared to a lion. And judging by the concept art, I'd have to say that this is no exaggeration. The elder dragons are titanically huge.
I think my favorite thing about this is that this isn't taking place in a raid or an instance. This is the open world after a number have events has happened. Everyone can take this guy down if they want.
@Mudora17 And the best thing is that the bosses scale the more or less people there are e.g. more abilities to handle the increase along with more hp so it doesn't go down faster thus dwindling the experience, or less abilities and lesser hp so that smaller groups can handle the situation. Although there is a baseline difficulty so that encounters of this magnitude can't just be solo'd or dealed with a very tiny group.
Also.. This is a level 40ish boss in GW 2(level cap is 80) and deathwing is the `final` boss in WoW.. And the shatterer is still more awesume then deathwing.. Wonder how epic the elder dragons will be in GW 2 :o
@idricool actually no it didnt. Cataclysm came out before this, and even if this came out first WoW couldnt have added deathwing and a whole expansion in like a month
@JJxBombshell Guild Wars 2 isn't even released yet, this is a demo at Gamescon. However, Blizzard has rich lore, Deathwing/Neltharion have always been in the Lore, so Deathwing pretty much existed long before this dragon.
However, all World of Warcraft Dragons looks the same, and this one looks epic. Deathwing is as big as this dragons head. So, The Shatterer 1 / Deathwing 0
@JJxBombshell Yes cata has come out first, but GW2 has been in the works for...almost 5 years now really. So unless blizz started making Cata that early, i think the LOOK came first from the Shatterer.
@JJxBombshell It doesn't really matter whether Cataclysm's Deathwing came out before or after the creation of the Shatterer considering the dragon boss of Gw2 is simply a lieutenant of a greater boss in the game. The Shatterer is not end-game, plenty of times bigger and more stylish than DW, yet still weak (and smaller) compared to other dragons in GW2. So comparing Deathwing to the Shatterer is only poking fun at DW's miniscule importance.
@JJxBombshell You really should not compare the two dragons, because the dragon on here is only a mini boss, for lvl 45. The main dragon boss in gw2, foot is as big as this one.
So by saying the main boss in WoW, is as big a mini boss in gw2, does not help WoW case.

A-net lead content designer (actually talking in this video) said on an interview that the computers they're using to develop the content are the ones they started out with and their graphics cards are so old that you can not even buy them anymore...and they can still run the game perfectly...that tells a lot of how low the minimum requirements will be :))

Remember all ..its been announced the end loot is absed on a star system *Gold/Silver/Copper or Bronze *
its based on how long and how much you participated int he event chain ... so its literally impossible to just jump in at the last five minutes and get a GOLD reward like a person who was there the whole time.
keep that in mind if you wanted to exploit that system >.< ..like kill-stealing also wont work. because there will be a separate chest/loot for everyone.

What level area would this be in? The zone/event level, not the character level.

@xiXequinoxXix It a lvl 45 event place, Which max lvl is 80, so this is about half way.
However the main dragon will be 5 times-15 times bigger then this guy.

@3lprim0 Kralkatorrik, that's the name of The Shatterer's master. And his backside was easily viewed in one of the Charr areas in Gw1 if you looked around in the Eye of the North expansion.

@Mongerzz There's no raids in guild wars 2, notice he is not in a party? This means anyone can join in from what I understand. Its more a group killing of a huge boss, and everyone who took part can get the treasure.

@Tazzako There is no raiding. There are bosses that appear at the end of event chains. such as Elder Dragons... anyone can take part in clearing events outside of main story-lines. But your right, they will be huge !

@Tazzako well not really randomized, well for some it will be. Basically there will be this event that happens and afterwards they ask you to do something else, something else and finally after doing them all this dragon shows up. But it might be random if your running by and suddenly this huge dragon is "there" :o Just the thought would scare me!

@WayTyler fights against an elder dragon will last about 10 days for 600 people to break through one of its scales. Of course they should all be coordinated to hit the same scale over and over again. After that some warriors need to be fired with catapults onto the opening and cut their way to the heart. This would take about 3 days. Minecraft would be nothing compared to it. Just dreaming. But I hope at least 500 players would have to participate to take it down.

@richielclark There is no way GW2 is coming out in November mate, sorry. For reference, SW:TOR is further in development and looking at a Holiday release, possibly going into January. I'd say this is going to be Spring 2012, perhaps Summer.

@AnAngryBeaver14 Yeah. Well technically ofcourse it's huge but compared to an elder dragons it's like a mouse compared to a lion. And judging by the concept art, I'd have to say that this is no exaggeration. The elder dragons are titanically huge.

I think my favorite thing about this is that this isn't taking place in a raid or an instance. This is the open world after a number have events has happened. Everyone can take this guy down if they want.

@Mudora17 And the best thing is that the bosses scale the more or less people there are e.g. more abilities to handle the increase along with more hp so it doesn't go down faster thus dwindling the experience, or less abilities and lesser hp so that smaller groups can handle the situation. Although there is a baseline difficulty so that encounters of this magnitude can't just be solo'd or dealed with a very tiny group.

Also.. This is a level 40ish boss in GW 2(level cap is 80) and deathwing is the `final` boss in WoW.. And the shatterer is still more awesume then deathwing.. Wonder how epic the elder dragons will be in GW 2 :o

@JJxBombshell Guild Wars 2 isn't even released yet, this is a demo at Gamescon. However, Blizzard has rich lore, Deathwing/Neltharion have always been in the Lore, so Deathwing pretty much existed long before this dragon.
However, all World of Warcraft Dragons looks the same, and this one looks epic. Deathwing is as big as this dragons head. So, The Shatterer 1 / Deathwing 0

@JJxBombshell Yes cata has come out first, but GW2 has been in the works for...almost 5 years now really. So unless blizz started making Cata that early, i think the LOOK came first from the Shatterer.

@JJxBombshell It doesn't really matter whether Cataclysm's Deathwing came out before or after the creation of the Shatterer considering the dragon boss of Gw2 is simply a lieutenant of a greater boss in the game. The Shatterer is not end-game, plenty of times bigger and more stylish than DW, yet still weak (and smaller) compared to other dragons in GW2. So comparing Deathwing to the Shatterer is only poking fun at DW's miniscule importance.

@JJxBombshell You really should not compare the two dragons, because the dragon on here is only a mini boss, for lvl 45. The main dragon boss in gw2, foot is as big as this one.
So by saying the main boss in WoW, is as big a mini boss in gw2, does not help WoW case.
