You forgot the part that rose was FORCED to be cal's fiancee. That was how women were treated at that time. They were forced to marry people thay didn't love.
Rose was forced into marrying Cal because her and her family were running out of money and her marrying Cal was their only option of survial, but Rose didnt love Cal and being forced to live a life she couldnt live drove her to suicide. Then when Jack saved her life and pulled her back over the ship, he also saved her from that life she couldnt live with Cal.
Jack and Rose both fell in love... Cal couldnt take it because Jack was a low class passenger, and he hated it that Rose didnt have the same respect for him as she had for Jack, and so he tried to do everything he could to tear them apart before the ship actually sinking did it for him and everyone else that disagreed with the situation. Cal didn't really love Rose either, he wanted any wife that he could tower over and make them feel small i suppose. Maybe they did love eachother once? :P

i know! the perspective in this movie is stupid, cal is evil because he gets mad at his fiancee for partying/running around/having sex with another guy and then leaving him the portrait and an obnoxious note telling him to go fuck himself. but of course he's a rich asshole so she can be as cruel about it as she wants and we're all still supposed to feel sorry for her... lmao

You forgot the part that rose was FORCED to be cal's fiancee. That was how women were treated at that time. They were forced to marry people thay didn't love.

Rose was forced into marrying Cal because her and her family were running out of money and her marrying Cal was their only option of survial, but Rose didnt love Cal and being forced to live a life she couldnt live drove her to suicide. Then when Jack saved her life and pulled her back over the ship, he also saved her from that life she couldnt live with Cal.

Jack and Rose both fell in love... Cal couldnt take it because Jack was a low class passenger, and he hated it that Rose didnt have the same respect for him as she had for Jack, and so he tried to do everything he could to tear them apart before the ship actually sinking did it for him and everyone else that disagreed with the situation. Cal didn't really love Rose either, he wanted any wife that he could tower over and make them feel small i suppose. Maybe they did love eachother once? :P
