  • i would say its aknown fact that you are going to have a much longer wait with socialized medicine.i dont want the government to run my healthcare.they cant even run the crap they are in charge of right now,and you want them to run healthcare?they have already been talking about death panels, thogh they call it something else.socialized medicine in england is fallig apart.why repeat this mistake here ?

  • Mark Steyn again takes it home again.

  • this scares me. I'm afraid they'll take away my antidepressants and my dad's heart meds.

  • Year long waiting times I live in BC Canada and I had to have surgery for a construction injury and I had to wait a month. Year long waiting times thats bullshit!

  • Oh, so cause it didn't happen to you......therefore it doesn't happen.

    Fail.

And lol at waiting for a month. In the US you woulda had that surgery within a week.

No wonder you guys think you have such a great healthcare system, you are content with mediocrity.

Oh, btw, did you know that the father of your very own system says its broken?

  • @girzwald3

I live in Canada but am from the United States. My family has had a series of serious operations and we never had to wait while living in Canada but were denied the operations because of our "insurance coverage" in the United States. You are very much the variable in a free market healthcare system because you are only worth what you make or the insurance you pay for that never covers you.

  • @WAnDeRiNgSt4R

I call BS. And the thousands of people who have had to wait would disagree with your BS anecdotal statement.

  • @girzwald3

You are a republican from the United States what do you know? You people live in bubbles.

  • @WAnDeRiNgSt4R

People like you are always so funny. Really, stop having sour grapes about the US. You guys are always fucking hypocrites. ya, were in such a bubble. Ya, cause you aren't? bullshit.

You call us arrogant. While being arrogant. You say your system is great, when I can count the number of people who have willingly traveled to canada for their healthcare on one hand. You people use technology and techniques we have long since abandoned. Your heathcare is in the stoneage.

  • @girzwald3

Psh I love the US I just don't like folks like you who give it a bad name cause you don't know anything else and think everything that isn't you is evil. I don't think you are arrogant at all. I think you have to sound intelligent in combination with an inflated ego to come off as arrogant and you don't have that problem. Ok dude keep lying about countries you've never been to. We all get it USA #1 everyone else sucks, whatever makes you feel better.

  • @WAnDeRiNgSt4R

Pretty much. Thats how the US has gone from 13 shitty British run colonies, to world superpower in just a few hundred years. Cause we are #1. I don't see people breaking down the doors and millions of people immigrating to YOUR country. People are dying to get here. People are dying to get here so bad, they cross deserts and shark filled waters to get here. But do they then move on to your shitty country? No, they stay here cause they wanted to come here, not to you.

  • @girzwald3

Americas greatness all within a few hundred years at the expense of every population you have ever come into contact with. Your hypocrisy is sickening. The US robs the world blind then when people come to the US only to make money, not for you, not for your half-baked ideals, just for the money they can't make in their country because of the monopoly capitalism your country has shoved down the throats of the global economy, you shit on them as if they need you.

  • @girzwald3

Canada is #7 in immigration in the world so what are you talking about?

"Oh, btw, did you know that the father of your very own system says its broken?"

Tom Douglas was a SOCIALIST this is why he said the healthcare system was broken when he started it because it was not accessible enough, people like you slowed it's progress. What point that makes for your position is beyond me.

  • @girzwald3 I have friends all over the world and I've never heard anyone complain about socialized healthcare based on firsthand experience. It's always conservative asshats like you trying to assert how miserable they are.

  • @girzwald3 in the US you woulda had that surgery in a week..... or not at all, if you don't have thousands of dollars just lying around.

  • @Mousse420

People don't complain, cause that's all they know. They accept a shitty system as the norm. You wouldn't know to complain.

And BS on the needing thousands of dollars lying around. Unless its a cosmetic surgery that an insurance doesn't cover, you never pay upfront. And if you don't have insurance, there are plenty of other ways to pay. Charities, or just plain going into debt for it. Which is a much better option than the hospital not doing it cause the government says no.

  • @girzwald3 It's really ironic you use these arguments since insurance companies are always denying people treatment and telling them what kind to get, exactly as you love to say a socialized system would.

  • @girzwald3 .... And oh yes why don't we just go into debt, because using that as a standard option is so much better than just having it already paid for via your taxes... You remind me of Rush Limbaugh telling school kids to eat out of dumpsters.

....And I don't know what kind of insurance you have, but the last kind I used made me pay for anything under $2500. Now I'm really not interested if you think there's better deals out there - IMO the entire system sucks.

  • @Mousse420

And IMO, you are an idiot. And you prove my point, AND show whats wrong with the entire system.

"Your insurance made you pay for anything under 2500" OMG, HEAVEN FORBID you pay for your own healthcare. Thats truly barbaric! Someone ELSE should pay for it!

Its called INSURANCE.Its supposed to protect again catastrophe, not every little thing that happens to you and stuff thats inevitably going to happen. Colds, flu, etc. Its supposed to protect against boken limbs, cancer, etc.

  • @girzwald3 Socialized healthcare pays for EVERYTHING. PERIOD. AND it's more efficient.

  • @Mousse420

THEN WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO COME TO THE US? WHY CANT YOU ANSWER THAT YOU FUCKING RETARD?

If your system is SO great, and SO efficient, then WHY do tons of people come here EVERY YEAR and tell us how shitty it is? And how they were denied coverage, or put on a waiting list that they would die while waiting on.

Can you answer that fuckface? cause so far, YOUVE IGNORED THAT FACT.

Google, Shattered Lives: One Hundred Victims of Government Health Care

    Just a fraction.

  • @girzwald3 I've never heard these stories from anyone except lunatics like you. I know people from all over the world and I've never heard a single complaint about socialized healthcare from anyone who actually uses it. shitface fuckballs cockbutt.

  • @Mousse420

That might be because you're a fucking retarded ass hole who doesn't listen to what the hell's going on in the real world, you shitface fuckballs, cockbutt. (What the hell is a fuckball??).

  • @girzwald3 - "People don't complain, cause that's all they know. They accept a shitty system as the norm"

Oh the irony. Don't forget, they're also blinded by their idiotic patriotism

  • @Mousse420

Again, I can count how many people have traveled from the US to canada for treatment on one hand.

I cant do so with people coming from canada to the US cause your system sucks.

That proves everything. If your system is so wonderful, and wait times are so short, and government pays for everything. Then why EVEN ONCE, do people have to come here and tell us these horror stories about your shitty system?

  • @girzwald3

Because they are lying pompous bourgeois douche bags who are naturally complacent because they have never worked a day in their life. They would sacrifice accessibility for all for their luxury treatment and minor conveniences that they could afford on their own. A bunch of first class ass-wipes forced to ride the plane like everyone else always piss and moan. Who cares?

  • ....Plus this guy seems to forget that the US have MRSA,SDV,waitin times and they wont operate on someone that doesnt follow health advice..ie a drunk Alcholic isnt going to get a new kidney. His talkin crap.

  • In the military, a unit can only move as fast as its slowest man,and i think a society is the same, and poverty is the "slowest man" in society, and we should all help each other, with healthcare, why shouldnt some of the money from TAX on smokers..beer...fatty foods etc pay for the good of all(btw i smoke, drink and eat crap)And in the UK we have choice...you can still pay for private...but your also helping the "slowest man" with National Insurance etc.

  • Socialism is EVIL! Gimme a break!. How dumb can you be. But if Socialist states are evil so is the entire Europe. The U.S. needs UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE! Freedom of choice? The insurance companies chooses its candidates. There those people with insurance coverages who still die because they are being denied costly operations. Being social and living is a social state is the best thing of HUMANITY, it is out obligation to help the people in need.

  • @edisondick Europe is completely evil.

  • @FrankinHolland America is completely evil.

  • Socialized Healthcare would even remotely work if people took better care of themselves.

There is a price for convenience, and it hits us faster than we can think.

You wanna do whatever the f*** you want? Get messed up? Then don't expect to be served a silver platter.

  • @LtSurge659 and ppl that work for a living will have to pay it in taxes, so screw you stop trying to lecture on "good healthy living". get off your ass and work then you're argument might mean something.

  • As an upper-level executive of a major H.M.O. I approve this message.

  • This is FUD - see my video for enlightenment.

Watch "Sick Around the World" Frontline.

    This guy is spouting B.S.

Waiting is no longer than in the U.S. Cost is 1/10th ours. People are happy with their nationalized healthcare systems.

Its a shame that people believe this kind of FUD.

Republicans just snif out the bribes.

  • I have a high deductible health insurance policy. I have a health savings account I put my own money into that after about 9 months will cover my deductible and will keep growing until I take money out or use it to pay a deductible on medical costs. I have had to use the military healthcare system which is most similar to socialized medicine. You take the doctor, drugs, and diagnosis they give you after waiting 3-6 hours to be triaged by someone who sees you as only a number. Try beforeUbuy.

  • Only a true christian nation would look at universal healthcare as something evil! But i guess once you suspend critical thinking noone can help you, not even the best healthcare system in the world!

  • Only Americans can be mislead to believe the crap this guy is spouting. He is simply LYING inventing issues and anecdotes he pulls out of his ass! Healthcare in US is ALREADY much more restricted then in any other industrialized natoin with universal healthcare, so fact is there would be LESS restrictions in a UHC system. You also have bureaucrats (from various insurers) between you and your doctor as it is now, which would GO AWAY under a UHC system. This guy is truly deluded.

  • I agree. Only in America.

  • 4:37 "having a cheese sandwich in your car" .. hilarious. Who eats a cheese sandwich, really.

Americans: "We WILL smoke, drink, eat as much as we want, we WILL NOT exercise, we WILL ignore all doctor's warnings, but it is our RIGHT to get free bypass surgery!!"

  • I love satire. And I strongly support ittttt

  • Steyn is right, our system in britain is very very poor.....

our system began, not b/c the old one was bad, but b/c of the political ideology of the left.

  • Thank God there are never any waits on our current health care system, like you know appointments. I just walk into my Dr's office any day or night and get the care I need.

Of course the whole truth is many without insurance get NO health care, when it goes to hypertension and diabetes or other long term health issues that go untreated due to cost rationing.

  • I think there are legitimate concerns about universal healthcare but in the end I think we need it.

  • I heard ML yesterday on Rush. I am delighted to see this segment in particular posted on youtube. Thank you!

  • "Life expectancy is marginal," Those that give up basic human rights for liberty deserve neither: Me

  • I have been treated as socialized heathcare systems and they are great. Once broke my arm badly in California, and it cost me $10,000 and I had to wait for hours in the emergency room for just a triage.

  • Hilarious that someone gave this comment a thumbs-down because this story didn't fit with the myths about universal health care. I've known many Canadians and Europeans, and they've all said that the US health care system is a mystery to them, and that their own countries' systems, while flawed, work just fine.

  • If you did truly pay $10K for a broken arm, you were paying for all of those "patients" up from Mexico getting their health care for free.

  • Riiiight... Do you really find yourself at the end of a line of "Mexicans" at YOUR doctor's office? Really?

You've "known many Canadians and Europeans..."?--fess up: you've only "known" them because Rush told you about them. You don't have any actual evidence. And if someone who actually HAS experienced "socialized" medicine (like we don't have socialized police, socialized fire, and a socialized military) posts something positive about their health experiences you spew talking points. Pathetic.

  • Well, I have plenty of evidence and experience and socialized medicine is inferior. This is not to say that there are not good doctors in the UK doing the best they can. People who usually have anything positive to say about it usually are speaking out of ignorance. My wife worked for the NHS for ten years. Out of all the medical professionals I spoke with I found exactly one who liked it. It was not because it delivered superior care, but because it was "fair."

  • Well, MY wife worked for NHS for TWENTY years. And of all the medical professionals I spoke with I found exactly one who DIDN'T like it. He was a right-wing nut job whose main complaint against universal health care was that it was TOO "fair." Funny how Cheney, McCain, Bush, DeLay, Gingrich etc. all enjoy lifetime guaranteed "socialized medicine," but everyone weak-minded enough to still admire those people cheer when they talk of the horrific tragedy health care for ALL would be.

  • They don't "enjoy" lifetime socialized medicine. They have private insurance available to anyone. It is called Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I suppose you were speaking with a wealth of left-wing nut jobs who surrendered their ability to reason rationally for the promise of something that is blatantly inferior. My wife is a doctor who has worked in four countries, three of which have or had socialized medicine. They are all inferior to a free market system.
