Wow, your a tough guy! Only a wool blanket, thats really brave by my standards. I always use a 3 season sleeping bag unless in middle of summer. Yeah, i do a lot of solo camping. People think ya mad and dont really 'get it' until you mention Ray Mears then they are like 'oh yeah right' but still think your mad! I camp with my girlfriend sometimes but that is strictly summer time only. Ha ha she cant take the cold!
P.S. I've always been a ground man, the key is good insulation. Do you think you stay warmer in your hammock set-up keeping you off the ground? Cheers.
Very nice! I too spend a lot of time in my local hills (The Chilterns, SE england) trying out bushcraft techniques and walking. I love to stay overnight and dont use a tent anymore bivi bag and a good sleeping bag under a tarp or usually in a leaf/debris shelter is great fun. Do you get cold or am i just being a wimp HA HA! I last did an overnight stay in early december and was goin to wait til late march before doin another night stay...
