  • Yes the RA-3482K has a P&W R1830 but this is pure and only for mecanical reasons. Because the R-1830 is used on the DC3

  • looks more like a Lavochkin la-5 or la-7

  • wow fuckmyself that's a fucking monster engine!!!!!

  • I like the use of a B-17 motor on a fighter. Not a lot of Fortresses out there so why not use the on Russian fighters...excellent fit!

  • @groovy67 Or strap it onto a Wildcat! lol

  • @groovy67 B-17's didn't use PW-1830'S, they were powered by CW-1820'S. B-24's used both, the later ones all had 1830's.

  • @klesmer

    Actually the B's had R-1820-51's, C's R-1820-65, F's and G's R-1820-97.

  • @klesmer

Actually all the B-24's from the XB model on up used the 1830's. Very few 24's were produced before the XB-24B, and almost all the A's were converted to C's with the 1830's anyways. IT wasn't till the D's were produced that any real amount of 24's were available.

  • @EvilxMerlin Thank's for the info.

  • Pratt & Whitney? Oh... jammer. Niet slecht hoor, hoopte gewoon op een Shvetsov.

  • no, This yak has a P&W R-1830

  • If it Yak3, then the motor on it not native. But it not Yak11

  • This is a Yak-11 (or Czech built LET C-11), NOT a Yak 3.

  • haha funny thing, my dad owns this plane soow i think he knows best.

  • Does it have the same engine as an La-7?

  • Rick van der Graaf :-)

You are a happy one to be his son. Be proud !!

  • @zoekja this is not a yak 3 since it got a different engine the R 1830 is what the M82 the La5 used is based of so it looks very much like a La since the Yak and La got Similar bodys

  • @zoekja This is a YAK 11 rebuilt as an YAK 3, sevral planes have been rebuilt as YAK 3s. Only thing is its got the wrong engine ;)

But its a butiful plane :)

  • @Planebeach

Actually there is a lot more to it than that. The Yak-11 has a different fuse, wing design and tail than the Yak-3. A Yak-11 rebuilt as a Yak-3 is still a Yak-11 regardless.... its still a Yak-11 under the skin.

  • Yeah, bro, the Yak-11 has a very different cockpit and fuselage. This is a Yak-3. Some of them have been made with radials, P&W 2000s, I think.

  • The YAK 11 is completely different !

    i.e. different engine.... a schwezow AsH-21

  • Ik geloof dat u een collega van me kent, genaamd: Adrie. Ik had al gehoord over de Yak 3. Zeer indrukwekkend. Wat dreef u om een Yak-3 te bouwen?
