Actually all the B-24's from the XB model on up used the 1830's. Very few 24's were produced before the XB-24B, and almost all the A's were converted to C's with the 1830's anyways. IT wasn't till the D's were produced that any real amount of 24's were available.
@zoekja this is not a yak 3 since it got a different engine the R 1830 is what the M82 the La5 used is based of so it looks very much like a La since the Yak and La got Similar bodys
Actually there is a lot more to it than that. The Yak-11 has a different fuse, wing design and tail than the Yak-3. A Yak-11 rebuilt as a Yak-3 is still a Yak-11 regardless.... its still a Yak-11 under the skin.
laten ze maar weer is paar goeie ouwe fokkers in mekaar sleutelen veel mooier dan dat russische spul!!
dat vliegtuig is miss 10x sneller enzovoort maar een paar nederlandse fokkers in de lucht is een mooier gezicht

Yes the RA-3482K has a P&W R1830 but this is pure and only for mecanical reasons. Because the R-1830 is used on the DC3

I like the use of a B-17 motor on a fighter.Not a lot of Fortresses out there so why not use the on Russian fighters...excellent fit!

@groovy67 Or strap it onto a Wildcat! lol

@groovy67 B-17's didn't use PW-1830'S, they were powered by CW-1820'S. B-24's used both, the later ones all had 1830's.

@klesmer
Actually the B's had R-1820-51's, C's R-1820-65, F's and G's R-1820-97.

Yeah, bro, the Yak-11 has a very different cockpit and fuselage. This is a Yak-3. Some of them have been made with radials, P&W 2000s, I think.

Ik geloof dat u een collega van me kent, genaamd: Adrie. Ik had al gehoord over de Yak 3. Zeer indrukwekkend. Wat dreef u om een Yak-3 te bouwen?
