I'm 16, and Foreigner is one of my favorite bands <3 I'm proud to say it! They're absolutely amazing. I really hate that Lou Gramm isn't in it anymore :/
I can't broadcast it myself, as this computer didn't have a microphone with it. There needs to be a quick "shout it to me and see whether anyone knows it" facility on YouTube called say-and-find on a single click button;voice, musical instrument, both accepted. Replies to a special red-outlined comment box, positioned under the sign-in box to find as soon as the searcher logged in again.
Thanks for reply, but the singer would have been broadcasting in 1950 - 1960 and has probable either retired or died by now. It was played on Capital Gold almost certainly in their 50's and 60's slot. ANYONE OUT THERE REMEMBER IT? Gold politely haven't answered my request e-mail and it was on their playlist once. Don't get it. It was probably a hit in its time,or they wouldn't have played it to start with. Where are all the older DJ's on Gold????????????
Someone more than 29 who remembers a female solo singer from, probably 1950's or 60's, who sang a song with the rhyming words "mountain" and "fountain" sung on two consecutive lines in the lyrics, to a rising cadence in the music, and possibly "say you will" elsewhere in the lyrics; I'd like to find the name of the singer and the title of the song. If anyone knows the one I mean, please drop us an answer. It is a lovely track. Sort of thing that someone like Louis Walsh would recall easily.
one of Foreigner's most underplayed songs considering this song peaked at #6 in early 1988, I wonder how well this song would have done if it was released before "I Want To Know What Love Is"
I remember watching this video back in 1987 as a 17 year old kid. Funny how the theme of the music video hasn't changed in over 20 years.Young girl trying to hook up with an older, richer dude. Some things will never change.
With all due respect to all the great singers out there... I still think that Lou Gramm is one of the greatest rock singers out there... Age has taken it's toll but he still sounds good. However, back then very few singers could touch him imo.
I didnt know there was a such thing as an UNDERATED FOREIGNER SONG. Its like the whole library is thier greatest hits. This band is as good now as they were then. They are also official friends of my TOTALLY MUSIC ARTIST CHANNEL. For you folks that think newer music is not good.....you need to listen to: Nightwish, Delain, Sabaton, and Within Temptation. Theres a whole music world that we in the US have been blacked out from and those bands are EXCELLENT!
i love 80's and 90's music it has more heart in it than today's music. Today's music is all about competition and i think music should come from the heart and soul.
This song for some odd reason hardly gets mentioned when people start talking about Foreigner, this IMO was one of their best songs yet you hardly hear this song on the radio.
@Sojic82 While we're at it, Cheers from Siberia! C-c-cold temperatures, but I'm making it with a former Soviet dissident who has no teeth and hair because she lost it working in nuclear plants building bombs! but that makes it easier for good head!
@highlanderdeminas same here, but i'm into 50, 60's, 70's 80's, 90's and modern rock and i love pop like Kelly Clarkson. But for the most part most modern music is crap. AND Nickelback is NOT crap. but, i'm only 13. I am a huge foreinger fan
@vardiss22 I couldn't agree with you more, not many people seem to be familiar with this song which is really sad cause this is one of my favorite Foreigner songs, for my money I like this song better than "I Want To Know What Love Is"
@Doobie1975 This one and Cold As Ice are favorite Foreigner tunes hands down...its kinda funny how they became more of a down tempo band in the 80's ..because of hits like I Want To Know What Love Is, Waiting For A Girl Like You and I Don't Want To Live Without You..good songs but i like their uptempo stuff better
@vardiss22 Foreigner does seem to be remembered as a love ballad group rather than a pop/rock group, when I've first heard of Foreigner I only knew them for "Waiting" and "I Want to Know" and when I've first heard of "Double Vision" and "Juke Box Hero" I was amazed with how these guys could rock, I didn't care much for "I Don't Want To Live Without You" very much cause I thought that song was a little boring, this song IMO was their last great hit song.
@80estimemachine They were great . I Was Born In Early 90's But I love songs from 70's until 90's these 3 decades were the best.Who said they weren't both great again?

Damn! I am getting old! I remember when when this was on MTV's daily top twenty countdown every weekday afternoon when I was 13/14 years old in 1987. Great times!
Janny mia y de nadie mas....me enseñaste esta cancion y me la regalaste para siempre...que el mundo espere, que el tiempo avanza, y no quiero perderte...y no lo haré... Te quiero mucho...mucho y mucho...
I've been looking for this song for like a month, I finally decided to search some of the lyrics under Foreigner after listening to 'I wanna know what love is'. I pretty much flipped shit when this showed up.
whenever I see a list of people's favorite Foreigner songs this song is hardly on the list which really sucks cause this is a great song that deserves to be up there with their classics, sometimes I wonder how popular this song would have been if it was released on the '4' album?
I think this is when Lou Gramm started to to lose the power he had from the "Foreigner 4" days. They couldn't recover, for they virtually disappeared in The 90's. Pity. they rocked in The 80's
This song totally rocks, it reminds me of this one girl who I've met online and developed a huge crush on her and my life totally changed once me and her became close friends and I've felt like I was ready to take on the world now that me and her have gotten to be close friends
@EnjoyTheSilence93 While I thought the video to "I Want to Know What Love Is" was better but as far as the song goes I like "Say You Will" much better than "I Want to Know What Love Is", "Say You Will" should have been a much bigger hit than "I Want to Know What Love Is" IMO
I'm surprised this song went #1 on the Mainstream Rock Charts for 4 weeks when "I Want to Know What Love Is" only stayed at #1 on the Mainstream Rock Charts for 2 weeks
industrialsun has a point. The second half of the 80's went by so fast for the industry and all of a sudden the video clip became the primary marketing tool for bands like this. Bands found that instead of a core following of true fans on radio they now instantly had a mass market to hit and and needed to shape their songs for it. It was a good thing and a bad thing.
This a such a terrific song yet is almost completely forgotten to anyone who is not a Foreigner devotee. That seems criminal because level of craft here matches peak of band's finest work. Songs from Inside Information just did not have the staying power of earlier hits because by 1987 veteran bands like this who constucted most perfect FM radio songs were unable to compete with MTV-driven groups. This video directed by a young David Fincher foreshadows the end: looks great but loses the band.
I remember feeling surprised about this song making the Top 10 cause it didn't get nearly as much airplay as "I Want to Know What Love Is" did, I thought this song only went Top 20 at the most, this song IMO deserves just as much recognition as their earlier hits
@Ladysensei This song definitely deserves a lot more airplay on the radio than what it's getting, it's really unfortunate that this song, "That Was Yesterday" and "I Don't Want to Live Without You" have fallen under the radar yet their other hits are still getting regular rotation on various radio formats
I'm not in over my head. If they fuck with me they are in over their heads.

This is a really good song and not enough air play on the radio!

@Ladysensei This song definitely deserves a lot more airplay on the radio than what it's getting, it's really unfortunate that this song, "That Was Yesterday" and "I Don't Want to Live Without You" have fallen under the radar yet their other hits are still getting regular rotation on various radio formats
