First, type in "Icelandic Folk music" and you will quickly discover that the Old Norse people had a very rich singing Tradition. You might also want to consider that "medieval Gothic choire" is ultimately derived from Germanic singing techniques, the Goths after all being a Germanic tribe like the "Vikings"(not a people but an activity,btw)

@widugeist They had a rich singing tradition, but not in choirs. Choirs originated in monasteries... possibly based on Greek influence. Anyways the term 'Gothic' doesn't even have anything to do with the Goths. It was applied during the Renaissance to insult various art and architecture. (Because the Goths were a 'barbarian' tribe, it was supposed to be rude).

Anyways, not trying to bash you or anything dude, just a bit of a history nut ;)
