Pure bred dingoes are endangered due to cross breeding with domestic dogs and contamination of the gene pool. This is a huge problem in Australia and one that a number of researchers are working on. Unfortunatly there is some research to suggets that the pure bred dingo is already extinct. The Dingo is not endangered due to hunting, it is infact quite common and in some areas a pest species.
