@TheSoundCook those are George Ls, right angle. Can cut the cable to fit, use chrome or brass straight angle or right angle, and there are two different gauges of cable (if things haven't changed since I last went George L shopping). Thanks for watching...!
Ok thanks, by the way the fuzz head is really good sounding. I liked it when you set it to sound like an od and compare with the ibanez, much more clarity.
I just got my Fuzz Head and haven't been able to dial in a tone which is treble overload. My amp wasn't the culprit, as all of my other pedals sound deliciously full, so I'm not sure where to look next. I opened it up and turned down the internal range control which helped but the Fuzz is still far from perfect. Will the extra caps I ordered from Keeley do the trick?
@agentpissant42 Maybe. The hunt for a fitting fuzz is personal. Sometimes expensive. I wouldn't bash the Fuzz Head too heartily if you want to sell it in order to try something else. If it's not right for you, it's not right. I had so sell mine. But to pay for a blown tire.
very very nice clip! I've owned the fuzzhead for 5 years now and can honestly say it's a phenominal pedal, today I combined it with an AC booster by xotic effects and my god what a combo! it sung like a bird lol
@btyremanable hey thanks! I had to sell mine to pay for a flat tire. :( Will be getting another for sure. The Keeley OD is very Fuzz Head-like, but definitely not a Fuzz Head. One can tell that it was made by the same dude though!
Love this pedal run mine before a java boost.The Knob inside the fuzz head box can increase or decrease your fuzz I set mine in the middle for more clarity if you want more grit turn it up.still if nasty broken speaker fuzz is what you want this is not the pedal.
Agreed. It's very versatile, but won't do the torn speaker thing. Keeley Electronics will be sponsoring a new fuzz soon: it's the Mahoney Buzzrite. That'll do the "nasty broken speaker fuzz" you'd mentioned. That and the Fuzz Head will be the perfect suite o' fuzz.
thanks for a nice vid and audio. very helpful. gotta say it sounds like an edgy overdrive to me... not fuzz-like at all, even when the fuzz knob is maxed out. not necessarily a bad thing though, but your vid makes it clear this pedal won't deliver a classic fuzz tone.
Definitely! It sounds a little bit like it was recorded in an apartment through a little amp instead of in that classic fuzz situation on stage at the Filmore Auditorium through three Marshalls.
@pupa08 This pedal delivers classic fuzz tone like no other. The fuzzhead derives its fuzz from an already overdriven amp.
I use my fuzzhead with the internal fuzz knob all the way down through my 45 watt 59 bassman RI that's just starting to break up and let me tell you, you'd be hard pressed to get closer to Jimi's tone or Clapton's woman tone.
Bye bye tubescreamer. Just got my FH this week and it's the best tone I've ever had. When coupled with the Keeley Compressor this fuzz will turn even a stock Deluxe Reverb Reissue into a tone monster. Very transparent gain and incredibly touch sensitive. Beautiful six string chord voicing even with fuzz on the heavy side. Recommended!
Agreed. I like what the compressor does before a BD-2 also. Don't know the physics involved, but the transparency of the guitar is enhanced. I mean, fuzz and OD inherently distort. That's their thing. So, in a sense, what guitar, what wood, what p/ups become slave to the overriding influence of the distortion. The compressor helps preserve the instrument's presence in the face of that outrageous assault of being mangled as it charges through the gates of Hell and into the abyss of gnarling OD.
What angled jack do you use to connect the ibanez and the fuzz head? Im looking for real good quality and shortest as possible.

which amp and channel and setting was used? THX!

@KingTabor
I used a Blues Jr. set at apartment levels.
Priestfilms 1 year ago
I think so. That's the one I used pretty much since I got it, but have changed it since to a less woolly one. thanks for watching. ;)

Nice, is that the 0.033uf capacitor or the 0.027uf stock capacitor?
mattkelt 1 year ago
@mattkelt
It's not the stock. I lost that one. I think you're right; it was the .033.

That's a pretty cool backing track. What chords are you playing?

can you explain how you got the sound for teh rythym track and teh chords? thank you.
XXXMoodiboyXXX 2 years ago
It's a short looped phrase with some analog delay on there. Clean Fender amp.

Some, for sure. A Keeley Compressor really helps. Once I did a convincing version of Sorrow using that combination.

A Baker (B3) with mini-humbuckers.

Nice tone from both pedals!
What amp are you going through? Are the pedal over the clean channel?

Thanks. I think they're cool too.
Fender Blues Jr. Yes, clean and apartment-level volumes.
