  • how sad to those people suffering from malaria... :-(

  • unicef gorgeous like always!

  • What were these effective programs? Because all I see are fishnet distribution.

  • Why don't you read the report and find out? Of course, that would require you not to be lazy.

  • The west should allow Africa free access to DDT rather than nannying them into fairly useless pyrethroid synthetic insecticides

  • The U.S. is the nation doing the most in Africa, India and Asia in battling Malaria and AIDS

And liberals (environmental groups) don't want the U.S. to use the best tool in fighing Malaria -- DDT

    Shame on you!

  • It's pretty amazing when you get out of the states and see Unicef in malaria risk areas helping out. It should be illegal for any civilized society to allow people to die from poverty.

  • Take away any form of economy and you have yourself a solution my friend.

  • When I was involved in malaria control, I also propagated the widespread use of the larva-eating fish, Gambusia, for extensive dissemination in the large bodies of water in the catchment areas. Not only did I personally go to the mountains; I also went to the depths of the region in spreading the fish. The fish not only ate the larvae of the mosquitoes (of all species, including Anopheles), the adult fish were also quite nutritious when eaten by the malnourished children.
