Awesome cover, great voice, perfect guitar. Like people have said, the double tracking distracts. What Elliott usually did when he double tracked was pan each R/L, then the voices don't step over each-other. keep singing.

hey there. well, i have a tascam 2488 digital recording studio, that's a big help. i'm using an L.R. Baggs pickup in the guitar (I think it's an iBeam) and an AudioTechnica condenser microphone for my voice.

well it was really easy, i just bent a wire coat hanger into a ring shape and then took an old (clean) pair of nylon stockings and stretched them over the hanger. the hard part is getting a hold of stockings... people give you weird looks if you buy them... but it's weird to use old ones from people you know... anywho....

well actually i recorded the audio on my friend's laptop, and the audio on my home studio, so i went back in after and added a second vocal, i kept it quiet in the mix but elliott's songs just don't sound the same without it.

excellent question! thanks for listening close enough to notice, honestly i'm surprised you're the first person to notice :) since i recorded the audio separately from the video on my digital studio, i did record the vocals twice. it's something elliott smith does on just about all of his songs, and i like the effect. i've heard from some that it's deceitful, but i did both tracks in one take and i don't deny recording it on my studio, hope you don't mind, and thanks for the comment!

I have to respectfully disagree. We're all entitled to an opinion and IMO Loren has an undeniably exceptional voice that struck me immediately. Another thing that that struck me was how much personality comes through his music. A personality of compassion, honesty and kindness. You can hear the soul of a true poet when he sings, especially with his own songs. I think it's easy to confuse personality and humility. I find it so refreshing and rare to see someone so talented and yet so humble.
