Me and my friends used to hang out there as kids. it was pretty cool to watch. (keep in mind, i'm 20) another great part of MN is The Iron range, and BWCA :)
Watching ships is such a neat thing for us Minnesotans who are so lucky to be so close. I often wonder about the crew who navigate and applaud for entertaining us. Many thanks!
I visited Duluth a couple of years ago in July and was really impressed by these huge ships coming and going through the channel. It is very unique. I grew up in Minnesota and never visited Duluth the 20 years I was there. 40 years later I finally made it.
thanks for the view of James R. arriving at Duluth. As a life long boat buff this is great. The only sad thing is that Captain Joe of the James R passed away.
Barker: MOOOOOVE!
Ice: no!

No ships' horn? I grew up to those sounds.

That lake is steaming! It was cold. Who was the one forced to stand outside and film this? Give him a raise.

I am a big fan of the Interlake steamships
Paul R Tregurtha, Mesabi Miner and the James R Barker and this is a great catch of the James R Barker.

Fun to see (hear) the ice in the shipping canal. Would love to see some freezing spray!
