@rodj2 Trust me, we the makers of Viva the Nam LOVE Chef. Two of the really minor soldiers (Muskrat Willie and one of the Air Cav guys in the early Colonel Kharnage scenes) were kinda modeled on his look. And of course the bit where Holmes keeps yelling "CHERRY BOY!" is taken directly from the scene in Apocalypse Now Redux where Chef is screwing with Clean for not getting any time with the Playboy Bunnies. Chef makes that movie for me- probably why I kinda tune out after Kurtz offs him.

@mattlocke06 We actually shot TWO scenes riffing on that, but they both got cut b/c we wound up not liking a lot of our early footage b/c it wasn't up to standard. And they were both in the early part of the "in country" stuff, which was dragging in the 1st edit and had to be cut down. Also, the 2nd scene had maybe the funniest joke in the entire movie, but it was so wrong we chickened out and cut it. It was the kind of thing where even SOUTH PARK might have said, "Dude- over the line."

Honestly I have to say that Viva the Nam is a stop motion masterpiece, and an inspiration to the stop motion work that I have worked on to this day. Yet you have used I imagine other 100 different figures but you've designed sets and backgrounds and the story is brilliant and sends a great message about war and the outcomes of it.

@colonelkharnage And I've gotta say the comedy in Viva the Nam made me fall out of my chair the first time watching it. The level of brilliance and the originality of it. Of course it is a parody from previous War movies and possibly even TV Shows that I am not aware of but, but many of the jokes and references my generation of young artists and fans are unaware of makes this film that much better. You're a gifted film maker ColonelKharnage, and I cannot wait to see more of your work :)
