I'm thinking about getting a mosfet wire system. I recently put alot of upgrades into my v2, including new gears, a heavier spring, a high torque motor and a 9.6v battery. It doesn't fire right and I've been having alot of heating problems whenever I test the gear shimming and it literally just doesn't work. Could the problem be my old style wiring? (6mm tokyo marui m4a1 gearbox)
@rockclimberalex123 Check out AirsoftFix - AirsoftFix is the official store for Mechbox.com. If you don't find what you're looking for on there contact AirsoftFix and they can probably get it for you.
@sosoishero AirsoftFix now owns Mechbox.com - without them, there wouldn't be any new how-to videos, reviews, or video courses coming out in January 2012! Even though we are now owned by a retailer, we will keep a 100% objective non-biased opinion when it comes to parts/gear/etc. The findings in our reviews will actually help determine which products AirsoftFix will carry (they will carry what we objectively found to be the best item, not the other way around.)
@Mechbox6mm More ADS ;D, but I am not mad ad the ADS, so don't worry! I actually miss the days without video updates and I trust you guys about the gearboxes, Have a nice day!
@gonghay Usually yes. There are some wiring kits out there with the wires directly soldered to the trigger contacts for you, and then you can just crimp on the mini Tamiya connectors and the motor connectors. If you will just be doing new runs of wire with an existing trigger, then you will need a soldering iron. They really aren't expensive and it's not too difficult to do. We will actually be producing a soldering tutorial soon!
My gun won't switch to full auto! The selector plate isn't going back enough. The cut off lever's thing where you put the spring on (1:22) jams between selector plate and gearbox! Safe and semi works.
Glad to see you guys are still alive ;)! Any chance that you could make some videos about disassemblies for other versions of gearboxes? Just a suggestion. I'm a learning airsoft tech and rely on your clear and in-depth explanations to help me learn the ropes. Thanks for making these, and keep up the good work!

I have swapped the trigger-assembly, but it won't shoot in semi. Could it be that i have shimmed the gears too high for the cut-off lever to engage?

@VolvoJoakim cause i can't see what is wrong.

Do you need a soldering iron to rewire the gearbox?
