  • who cannot like this?

  • I love how when the solo part starts. You never know where its going or when its stopping, you just cruise along.

  • very nice slideshow dude, greets from Germany

  • had this on tape years ago, wore it out from this song

  • had this on tape years ago, wore it out from this song

  • Perfect

  • Furrthur, It's the passion and creativity of this band that draws us to them. No band in history has played as many days and nights as this band. So, if you can say in over forty years of going to work day after day, you never had an off day, I'd say you're not being honest with yourself . This music is a gift to we who love the Dead

  • On key, in tune, scale is secondary to melody unless of course it hurts your ears. Jazz music is full of off or (blue) notes. That's what makes it so great. It makes the music BIGGER as Dexter Gordon said. I have never heard a GRateful Dead song that made me suffer." Either you're on the bus , or off the bus." (Kesey. Peace to all

  • Lovely ~

  • great tune, awesome pics: thanks for uploading this - i love the windowpane at 6:25 (you amherst college folks know what i'm talkin about @_@ )

  • Do eet up

  • one of my favorite versions.

  • Thanks Johnny ..I needed this

  • @TheDman216 Not sure that my neighbours will feel that THEY need it, but they're getting it anyway...

  • Let the sunshine in :))

  • 2:38. Sand or Snow?

  • just stop by

  • i personally think they can all sing. i know bobby and jerry didnt always sing in key but they still sounded great with the songs. phil and brent can sing in key and it was always great to hear from them. donna did a little too much wailing in the band but donna is like many things, good in moderation. shes not my favorite but she added something to the songs. i think they all go well with the type of music they are playing and they know how to make fantastic music

  • @sportman41728

agreed, and they sang so many songs that sometimes they were off, Donna for example, but she would nail that same song on another night.

  • Great version...develops into big heart, strong and clear.

As for Donna, maybe she didn't have "pitch" but seeing her on stage under "certain" conditions she definitely brought a feminine dimension to the Dead I believe they needed and were looking for to evolve.

  • Nice pictures!

  • Does life get better than this song... So many happy times! Miss you Jerry!!!!

  • wow -- great lead break by Jerry at 3+ minute mark!!!

  • that first picture of jerry and that smokey ora thing is awesome!

  • 1:07: the acid must have been good.

great version of here comes sunshine, by the way.

  • I think this is only the second time they had played this; (2.9.73 was first). One of my favorite Dead tunes; it is in that Wharf Rat, Foolish Heart, Loser realm of whimsy and mid-range tempo. Great jazz/funk break. Try Doin' That Rag from Furthur's Lowell, MA show on June 30--the legend lives on!

  • this song has one of the best chord progressions to jam to..

  • Thee best year for the Dead!!! Man, does this sound sooo much better than my soundboard Maxell Type-2 cassettes!!!

  • Beautiful version. The Dead had such great audio engineers doing their live shows....takes me back to another time. Wake of the Flood and Blues for Allah were fantastic studio works - recommend them to anyone who may be enjoying this tune for the 1st time.

  • Some of the best vocals i've heard. Donna is actually in key for once!

  • @Lesh4life ...for once??!!!dude,,,she has AMAZING VOCALS!!....

  • @jazzplayer11...even Jerry said that she never could sing in key. But any who, I do respect what she has done for the dead and their community.

  • @jazzplayer11 - her vocals suck ass and are nothing short of a sonic cock block

  • @pbl1 The only one in this band who can actually sing is Bobby, and that's what made them great, it gave them character.

  • @looseele Bobby was never a great singer but by 74' he was trying to sound like Elvis. The best thing about the JGB is the fact there was no Bob and especially no Donna to ruin my tapes.

  • @desolationrow I loved Bobby's voice.

  • @desolationrow you're a friggin idiot lol , thats it GET OFF THE BUS !!!

  • @looseele I loved Jerry's voice.

  • @pbl1 Who are you to critic singing?

  • yabbo yabbo!

  • I caught strep at this show. Saw them a couple days later at U of Il in Urbana. Wound up with a great wife and mom and a bad piece of ass.

  • St Paul also a really good one. Love this song.

  • This was one of the first shows I ever collected. I knew it was a winer as soon as I heard this second set. The whole set is amazing!! This is my favorite version of Here Comes Sunshine. They were ready for this tour. All those breakout's in the Stanford show just previous to this show was all the fuel this band needed to blow everyone's mind in a whole new way. The Dark Star-Eyes-China Doll is truly remarkable to say the very least. It left a life long impression on me. That's for sure.

  • It's minis15 degrees this morning... in Truckee CA. This is just what I needed to warm up!

  • was my favorite tape, too. a. mazing.

    Who's got a SB version?

  • Wow, the harmonies are really good on this song.

  • Thank yoooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!

  • best Here Comes Sunshine ever. I got a tape of this show back in 1989 and broke it by listening to it so much.

  • great pics!

  • Sweeeeeet! Very Nice! :)

  • Thank you, thank you!
