Wow, I love how skiers take themselves so seriously. Sorry to disappoint you with a lack of getting myself caught in an avalanche. This is my first video and narration, do you think I have to be that accurate? Look at my awesome style, I am all that!
Here, take a look at my last trip to Valdez in 2009. It's effen sick!
Dude... Get your info right... Only 36 to 40 % of people that get into an avalanche get completely burried, so "maby 20% change of living" is complete bullshit...
Second, Your mates have "5 to 6 minutes" is bullcrap too! 92% of the people that get completely burried under an avalanche survive the first 15 minutes. After 15 minutes over half of the burried people run out of air, or get too cold to be able to survive!
But on one point you're right: Be carfull when skiing offpiste!
@powderskifun Who sez I have to be so accurate? I'm glad you know your stuff skiing that low angle, lift served, off-piste continental snowpack. I skied Davos last month and saw all sorts of avalanche paths. Looking forward to seeing your ski videos in the upcomming years.
@romannelson I gues i got a littlebit frustrated by the fact that my skiing season is over... I just read my comment again, and i'm sorry for the aggrassie aproach! Have fun skiin'! And if you come back to europe somethimes: Verbier in Switserland, La Grave and Charmonix in France, and St. Anton and Ischgl in Austra are great skiresorts! Offpiste here in europe isn't as bad as a lot of people are saying!
i thought there would be an actual avalanche to watch...cool videography tho of going off the jump with the helmet cam on and all tho :D 4/5 just for that
Funs stuff. I went for a 1500 ft ride down a 50 degree face in ak a couple years ago and was buried. Due tot he professionalism of the guides , I was located and dug out. Walked away nscathed. I was lucky. Guided clients getting caught in avys are a rarity. Still i was lucky. AK guides are true professionals.

if you had to buy your avalanche gear just for the ak trip, your certainly not hard core. you sound and ski like a flat lander.
