The Mayan Calendar doesn't say the world ends in 2012. The Mayans had something called a Long Count, which lasts 5125 years. That's what's ending on December 21st, 2012. But then a new Long Count begins on December 22nd, 2012, so it's just the same as years ending on December 31st and new ones starting on January 1st.

The Mayan Calendar doesn't say the world ends in 2012. The Mayans had something called a Long Count, which lasts 5125 years. That's what's ending on December 21st, 2012. But then a new Long Count begins on December 22nd, 2012, so it's just the same as years ending on December 31st and new ones starting on January 1st.
