@RoxxorBidoune The Jim Root Strat and Tele certainly are gorgeous looking things, but at the end of the they're going to sound like most other guitars with EMG 81/85s. That's just what I think though. Also bear in mind Corgan Strats are few and far between now, the only one I've ever laid eyes on is my own!

@travgpeters It's just a standard American Strat with good pickups. Anyone can do this themselves, cheaper.

@Zubirrex Not quite. It's a Highway 1 base, not an AM Standard. Its also hardtail, strung through the body. Wiring is customised. Comes with a tweed case (not cheap), and has the exclusivity factor. Realistically its as value for money as 'doing it yourself'.

hey man thanks for replying. yeah the bc2 is the bridge and that has higher output, i considered maybe trying that in the neck, but alot of reviews said that its too muddy in the neck, the tone zone anyway, and the bc2 is a tonezone with higher bass response. i was just wondering if the output of the neck pickup seems as balanced with the bridge with the higher string vibration in the neck pickup area or if you think that theres deffinatly noticeable drop in output in the neck pickup?

There's definately no volume drop, all three pickups seem to be remarkable balanced actually. Yeh i wouldn't try the BC-2 in the neck either because I think the BC-1 is already erring on the muddy side. I would do a demo of the neck but i've just sold my amp, so I cant :(

hey man which pickup are you using here? and would you say you get as much output out of the neck pickup as you do from the bridge or less maybe? im considering putting a billy neck pickup in my strat, i only really ever use the neck, but i like pretty high output, thing is i use clean tones alot too so its hard to find a good balance

They're both pretty evenly matched as they're both the same Model just different positions, though the neck may have more output as its not as close to the strings hope that helps

The bridge is a BC-2 and the neck is a BC-1 but don't quote me on that cos I can't be sure. They aren't exactly the same, i think the 2 has the higher output. It's certainly high output but I probably would have chosen something like the Cruiser, but thats probably not much use to you because its really low output. This is not a bad pickup at all though.

I should clarify that. Based on the Strats I've tested, the only ones worth having are either the BC Signature, or a 70s CBS Strat. The newer ones past 1982 don't feel right, and the ones before 1970 sound weird to me.

Although, I've found a '65 and an '87 that sounded and felt amazing. Except for the trem. I wish there were more hardtail Strats.

Well, Corgan did say that he felt totally comfortable with this Strat, something which he'd never felt since his 70s Strat was stolen around 1991. Maybe you have something in common with him :)

I have the guitar and i did a lot of research on it before buying and it's a very versitile insturment. Billy bragged that it was good for any genre. It sounds good acoustic style also. I play a lot of the pumpkins stuff but i also play matchbox 20 and even fool around with some blink 182 stuff. I'm in love with the guitar. And my friend even shreds on it to some of his metal tunes and it still sounds really good. Just wanted to let you know its a quality product.

I got Brian Eastwood (top guy) to wire mine up so i have tone control in all positions so I can well tame the chopper and get it sounding sweet.

Iv had loads of fenders and this is defo a keeper.
