I just got one of these things and it was a BITCH to get the thing set up and ready for sampling because of the memory card ordeal. For some reason, the first CF card didnt work and it pissed me off haha.  Then we tried a 4gb CF card after downloading the update and that one worked and now sampling is a breeze. And about the sensitivity: honestly its not that great :/ but oh well. overall this unit is superb

Ok guys, i have a question about SPD-S. For example if i use Reason 4.0 software for producing music, then is it possible to transport my own full song or parts of it from my laptop into the SPD-S? So when i hit the pad 1, the desired part or the full song starts to play (synth, bass and some strings for example, no drums) and i play drums myself along with them live? (i have Roland TD4 kit). And if i hit pad 2 on SPD-S, then some other part of my owh song starts to play (only bass or keys).

yes, you can.

I do just that but use Ableton Live for that specific purpose (triggering layers in "Session View" or looping & unlooping etc.).

I don´t know how you´d do that in Reason..

You can of course record sections of your songs onto your SPD-S memory card, but this does have restrictions due to memory space & duration etc.

The SPDS is great, but it's time for me to mov e up. Does anyone know if Roland plans to put anything out based on an upgraded SPD-20 or something like that? My problem with the SPD-S is that I've maxed out my external trigger capacity, and the pads on the unit rarely respond dynamically. Has anyone heard anything about a new Roland machine?

look again :) there is 9 :) there is 6 on the pad and if u look on the top of the 6 pads there is 3 long/small one's like rims. thats pads 2.. u can see in the beginning of the vid where he uses them :)

Just got mine, this video had some influence. It´s a very nice toy, this function is only one in a million among the possibilities. It´s a shame that here in Brazil these stuff are beyond expensive (i´m saying something arround US$900,00 with guaranties and all the absurd taxes).
