In all seriousness though, the first half of this review made me facepalm. You were reviewing a game from a franchise you dislike meaning you went into this with a negative attitude already. If your going to review a game, don't review a game from a franchise/company you don't like. When you review a game, you should be neutral about it before playing it and you've failed to do that. However, you did improve half way through the video by pointing out important points about the gameplay.

@ZeromasterLP So it's not important to establish where the reviewer is coming from or any personal biases that may affect their viewpoint before going into the review? You're saying, for example, that I shouldn't review Square-Enix games, and yet I've shown I like some of their games. I don't like Namco, but I enjoy some of the Soul Calibur and Ridge Racer games.

This idea is made even more irrelevant by your admitting he had points about the gameplay. In short, remove foot from mouth.

@scxcr So it makes more sense for him to go into the game with a bad taste in his mouth from the previous games? I'm sorry but that's a one-way road to fail. Pre-determined feelings about a game based on previous titles is like judging every game one company has made because you didn't like one of them. I'm sorry but you can't fairly review a game if your going to let your previous bad history with other games from the same series or developer cause you to pre-judge it.

@ZeromasterLP You can if you bring up valid criticisms, which you yourself said that he did. Your Gestapo-esque "you hated one game from a company or the company itself so you can't review anything from it" attitude is the kind of thinking that incites fanboys to rage on anyone with a negative viewpoint, no matter how valid it is, and if it is true then a person who's a fan of a company or game series shouldn't review anything from that game or company either because they're just as biased.

@scxcr Look, i'm not saying that you can't review a game from the same company or in the same series but if your initial thoughts BEFORE playing the game is completely based on previous entries in the series, then your going to be negative towards the game regardless of how you try to convince yourself otherwise.

@ZeromasterLP The fact is the whole intro about loathing dynasty warriors didn't help his case for this review and proved that his initial reaction to the series weighed some of his judgement about this game specifically. Again, I didn't hate the review, I just think that the whole speal at the start made many of his following points for the game feel like he wasn't giving it as much of a chance as he wants us to believe

@ZeromasterLP So he's NOT supposed to admit where he's coming from to give an idea of what shapes his viewpoint and expectations? That seems like a rather underhanded Gamespot sort of thing to do. Besides, a review is ultimately an opinion, whether it's paid for or done for fun and posted on YouTube, and I'd rather know his personal biases going into the game than finding out later he doesn't like the series and go all weaboo on his ass.

@ZeromasterLP And again, that's also not true. I hated Bloody Roar 4, but I love the Bloody Roar series. I love Bomberman, but I hate Hudson. I like FF 6, but I hate the FF series. How many more examples do I have to bring up that conflict with your line of thinking?
