Yet here he is saying that the collective can coerse money, time, rights from the individual. He then goes on to say in his speech that he never heard him say anything as 'incendiary' as the remarks from which this situation arrose. So if this was edited correctly, you'd have a video of Barrack Obama agreeing with himself. Maybe someone should do that. Both sides view the peoples rights as granted by the government, so both sides vote for the Patriot Act, FISA... Our constitution says they are granted by god and are inalienable, and as such cannot be taken by the government. I don't blame the politicians, people work in their best interests, I blame us the people for forgetting our heritage of freedom.

I'm voting Obama because he's the lesser of two evils. BUT:
1) Obama doesn't plan to send our boys/girls back home from Iraq. He plans to retract a majority.
2) He is not easing our dependance on foreign oil. He rejected opportunities for offshore drilling and supports higher taxes on USA gasoline corporations...forcing us to subdue to major world petro corporations like ChinaPetro.

Ideology & principles with no leadership are what have gotten us into this mess we're in right now. 2 wars that are draining our resources (not to mention killing our young men and women), credit and housing crises, an unstable market, a plummeting economy, a fuel crisis, and a serious PR problem with the rest of the world. Campaigning on ideology and principles is nothing more than a political gimmick to frighten the cowards to the polls. In practice, the gimmick is a death trap.

Absolutely, people just want to vote for him becuase he will bring CHANGE. He wants to punish the rich to give to the poor. What poor man can you think of in America that can give you a job. Give the rich oil companies a true tax break so that they can create jobs. RIGHT.

Cash doesn't make kids learn. We spend $10,000 a year to educate children in the US and we have the worst test scores for developed nations in the world. Other nations educate far better for far cheaper. In the US private students are educated for about $5,000 a student and they perform better than public school students. If we want good schools, we need to fire the bad teachers. The unions which prevent bad teachers from being removed...ever...have killed the next generation. Tragic.

The money will come from bringing home the troops in Iraq. Now we have more resources to use INSIDE the US as oppose to throwing it all away in Iraq. This doesn't require a raise in taxes. Just a shift of resources from wasteful spending in Iraq to wise spending within the country.

This is speach was very moving and for once i can say it sounds like an honest speech from the heart (i never thought i'd say that about a politician) i'm not american but americans should feel lucky to have someone like this running for president and for once vote for someone that is not only smart but very realistic in his goals and ambition ! I'm from france and I'm proud of american people that a person like him is already at this place. I believe he is a right guy with heart and brain enough to change the way america is going today with bush government.

Why all of the sudden is he so great? Before he was a candidate he was a nobody, now he is being compared to MLK? Yeah he talks about race and politics and whatever, but his biggest allie is his skin color. MLK. Malcom X, were visionaries...He is just an empty suit regurgetating speeches someone else wrote. Islam has been under attack many times in History and it always prevailed.
