I love Underworld, and I like this track, but this is a little too trancie for my tastes, I hope this is a one off for this kind of sound for them. I'm a bit disapointed.
@HaroonK74 I said trancie...clearly this isn't a trance track. Perhaps I should have said pop or trance influenced. Underworld is one of my favourite electronic acts, but this release I am just not enjoying at all. Catchy as hell, it gets stuck in my head; it's pretty much driving me nuts. It really seems to me they were trying for radio play with this one, or maybe they have just changed their sound. Either way it's not floating my boat.
@Tych333 fair point. I think they just wanted to liven up a bit since oblivion with bells didn't go down well in some quarters. I also welcome the move to work with other producers to help rejuvinate their sound, though the inclusion of paul van dyk did raise my eyebrows - should have been bedrock or new producers like phonat / herve etc.
But heck i'm looking forward to the gig anyway - watch the clips of their gigs - loveparade and recently at privilidge, ibiza!
This album as many have said is a bit of a disappointment i think the band got "sucked" into mainstream rather than keep their niche audience happy... look at deep dish, they did the same thing and its not shocking to even find sharam producing many of the tracks. I suppose once you do accomplish something there is no need to outdo yourself. Beaucup Fish will always be.
@Bonesoda I know what your saying but try and play it and not dance around the house ,it still feels good and then theres that love song ,louisiana that `s a bit different for them .
maybe they are changing and growing
I like it `s familiarity and I can`t wait to see them live again
i agree with potyesz. this is pretty bad. sounds like van dyke or some other pop trance crap dj stuff. @sychovski, this is more of an opposite of evolution, more like regression. this is something i'd expect a kid make on his pc or mac, not guys who'd done some truly remarkable music in the past. too bad
@adorozala Trance? you need to fix your ears dude, its drum and bass beat all over - the track was co-produced by high contrast. F&*k me people cant tell the difference between drum and bass and trance jeesh go pack to the learner pool. All reviews of the album are awesome and say its a rejuvenated return to form.
@ potyesz: it's called evolution homie. They can't be making Born Slippy for 20 years, don't you think? ;-) I know it's different, and very fresh, I love it.
@potyesz i thought so too at first but listenning to it again i quite like it, it's not excactly what you'd expect from them but it's still pretty good, you'd probably like the full version better, this is just the radio edit
I wake up to this....
