Attended my 1st drag race @ Lions in March 1963 and LIVED at SoCal strips until I was drafted (Vietnam) in 1969. My argument with the NHRA is simple; bring back 1,320 foot runs burning down the tires the entire way. Back off fuel pump capacity, overdrive on the blowers and let's get top fuel cars back down to 6.30 @ 240 and it will still be exciting, competitive, cheaper and far more fun. Those days, in the 60's, were such a treat to head to the drags and much of what made it so is now gone.
was so pissed i didnt get to go to the march meet. had the day off work on sunday, and it started pouring. and now its this saturday and i have to work
I always liked old=school drags...Freemont Drag-Strip, fremont california...
